Love it… with Plex

With Plex Media Server running on my Desktop, I stream everything to it… oh and Netflix is cool too.

We've had the Roku for a couple months now and we love it! Fast streaming with the Roku 3 is great for our main TV and watching YouTube videos.

A good alternative to cable

We have had our Roku for over a year and it is a good alternative to cable. The only thing I wish I had know before we got it was that the recent shoes and movies that we want to watch are only available on the paid apps, and the tv station apps can only be used if you have a cable subscription.

Unresolved issue blamed on TV.

As with other people I found out via blogs some TV's will display a purple error screen, only way to get rid of it is to go thru settings and change 720I to 1080 and back then it works. My Roku 3 works fine with my other TV, support says TV.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Best addition to the TV

I have a Roku on all 3 TVs in my house. If you subscribe to Netflix, Amazon Video or Hulu the Roku is a must. The interface is incredible and easy to use, especially with the remote app on the iPhone. In the past I used a Roku in combination with a competing device, but now I've left the other device unplugged for months as it's inferior.
While there are a few features I would really like to see, it's really the one device I constantly recommend to friends for Netflix, Amazon, Plex and even popping some on a USB drive. No competitors are making it this easy to put your content on a big screen.

Roku 3 Upgrade from Roku HD

I upgraded to the Roku 3 from the Roku HD.The new interface is significantly better than on my Roku HD. It is a marked improvement over the former version. When arranging "my channels" Inserting a new channel to a top position is a bit awkward as the items scroll in a serpentine pattern instead of getting pushed down. Everything moves out of position to the right by one space or to the first spot on the left. This means that rearranging the items can take a bit of getting used to. I have had no issues with aborts or watching live streaming content. I like the search function that finds movies and lists all the channels that have a particular movie available. However it doesn't seem to list the movie if it is available on one of the Free Channels only the paid channels. How about offering this too? I also like the ability to view the available Top news stories. I would like to see other news channels participate in this too with more diverse content available from more news outlets - seems to be dominated by just a few news outlets (Newsy, Huffington Post, WSJ, etc...) I'd like to see some of the other major networks participate too. (CNN, Fox, ABC, etc...) One feature that I miss is the RCA audio output that I used to have on my prior model which I used to feed audio to my Home Theater system. Now I have no way to feed sound from my Roku to my Home Theater system. Would you consider selling an adapter that one could tap RCA audio signals off the HDMI port? (RCA not phono plug output - phono output quality is poor) Overall I am very pleased with this model and it's capabilities. Well worth the cost.

Almost everything you need

Very quick, easy, intuitive, responsive. Netflix and Hulu Plus are seamless with it. The headphone jack is very handy. If only there was an easy way to link the Roku to a laptop and screen share, that would be prefect.

Got this last year and it has made our viewing so enjoyable. Easy set up for the non-tech savvy. Only fault is I would like to be able to utilize in more than one set at a time without having to get another Roku.
