Better than the last one

Had an original Roku for several years and bought this one last year. In short, everything about it is better. Software is better, and that says a lot because the original was very good. Unit handles app lockups better than the older one, and runs a lot cooler. Lastly, some cool new features (like the headphone jack in the remote, so I can watch my shows as loud as I want without waking my little girl) really make it head and shoulders above the rest.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great Little Device

Love this item for all types of TV's. It brings things like Netflix to any set with RCA plugins or HDMI plugins. You do have to review which of the Roku's support RCA plugins for older TV's as not all of them will support it. Sometimes even if a TV supports things like Netflix, the Roku is still a better device as it does not loose a signal as often as the TV can do.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Love it!
I have been a Roku customer close to the beginning of their time.
Only thing I can think of to put the icing on the cake is, folders to store different types of channels. Example: Sports, games, news, etc.....
Thank you Roku for years of pleasurable service.

The Good and The Bad

The Roku box performs as advertised.
The Good.
Lots of channels supported by the box including the Blaze
Wireless Network connection is stable
Easy to use and program.

The Bad.
The remote control looses sync with the Roku box at various times. This is quite annoying. Pressing the resync button does nothing to reestablish the connection. I thought it was a defective remote and asked for an exchange, which Roku promptly sent. The new remote had the same problem.
The remote is no more than 10 feet from the Roku box so distance is not the issue.
You have to completely reboot the Roku box in order to re-establish control. This is quite annoying.
There is no rhyme or reason as to why you lose sync. It happens several times in a 3 hour period when watching television.
I finally purchased a Roku remote control app for my IPAD and I use that instead of the remote provided by Roku. No problems.

Finally rid of high TV cable bills!

Last month I purchased this little box and what a difference! First, you will save the high cost of getting "nothing's on tonight" cable TV. Second, by streaming Netflix, and Hulu Plus, or Amazon Prime you get an incredible amount of content that you never could have imagined. Youtube is also around to clean up with other shows/ concerts. Third, when you download Roku's free private channels (you can get the list online) there is more and more for you. There is a problem, however, with getting local channels/ news and I hope one day that will not be an issue (you can get CNN International which streams live CNN in America often. You might have some luck with local news on Livestream through their "search" function. Overall if you want local/broadcast TV you can always stream it from the computer websites directly). The roku streams a neat channel called "nowhere USB" that allows you to put a USB and view your content on the large screen-a great idea for parties.
Overall, I am happy to have transitioned to Roku. It takes a bit of adjusting but when I don't have to be stupified by Honey Boo Boo or the Kardashians its nice to know there is intelligent content available with the click of a remote.
