By getting our Roku 3 we got liberated from cable and the ever increasing cost, as well! Roku is very user friendly; self directing; it's also super fast downloading content. We are very happy with it.

The search feature on the ROKU 3 is amazing ... It looks in all my apps and gives me tons of choices on where to watch movies/shows. First box to go to in your home.

The Roku is a nice addition to my paid tv. I like the fact that I can view tv programs at my leisure and without commercials. The only problem I've had is when pandora is on for an extended period of time. It will freeze up and then it has to be reset and then re-enter passwords. This has happened several times. As far as tv, movies, etc. it has worked great.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I am happy for an alternative instead of cable television, however, the product has a tendency too often of having to reboot, and syncing the remote.

I've tried several set-top boxes, and while many had points to love, there wasn't one that had enough to say "this is the device that single-handedly could facilitate cutting the 'cable'". The Roku 3 is that device and each with iteration, Roku gets better. Slick interface. Good development. Easy to use. Easy to set up.
Two niggling complaints stop it short of 5 stars even though I feel it's the best device on the market, Blluetooth...we need to be able to pair bluetooth headsets or speakers. Secondly it needs an HDMI "throughput" function to possibly save an HDMI interface.
I would recommend this to a friend!

it would be nice if U put in AVI codex. and also on vevo do like the computer and put 3 channels other then that the ROKU is ok

I ran into the now infamous problems that are supposedly because my HDMI cable is somehow defective. Depsite the fact every other device I have works just fine with the same TV and same cable. The roku will actually work just fine with said TV and cable as long as I don't try to watch TV. Browse the menu or play a game. That works.
I returned mine.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
