Best TV alternate on the market

Just a couple of months ago I got rid of cable TV. I was worried I wouldn't be able to see the content I wanted. With Roku I get almost everything I need. Live sports is about the only thing I cannot get but I knew that going in and I am sure soon that will change.
One thing that separates the Roku from the other competitors is the ability to plug headphones into the remote. Now I can watch and listen to what I want at a volumen I need without disturbing anybody else in my home. Love this thing!

I finally replaced my 2009 Roku 1 with an updated versions. Many improvements such as speed, interface design, and channel selection. My only complaint is the remote when being used for games. The remote is erratic and not very fluid in its control when using it for games. Would love to be able to use my phone as the gaming remote but haven't figured that out quite yet. Overall a good buy.

if you haven't ever seen or used one of the ROKU devices you don't know what you are missing. this purchase is probably the 5th or 6th ROKU i have purchased either for my own use in various locations in my homes or to give to friends and family members. it provides access to a variety of both free and subscription type services for just about every video need you could have. great movie variety, great independent programming variety and more "channels" than you could ever possibly use in a lifetime. you're missing the boat if you don't have one of these units in your home.

a little to much cumbersome registering with channels......then receiving emails with codes is a pain....

good unit overall. i like the controller, but wifi craps out multiple times in a day. often times 2 - 5 times during one program. needs improvement.

Does everything we need

This is our second Roku. Gets us Netflix, a ton of other channel choices and most recently Youtube. All the viewing we need for a fraction of the cost of Digital TV subscriptions.

Requires frequent resets

I really like my ROKU 3, BUT - it very often has to be reset in order to function. This is extremely frustrating in that after a reset you have to reestablish your links to each individual APP that you use, which is a huge pain and waste time that should be spent enjoying your streamed content. I would recommend this to a friend but make sure to advise them of this reset problem.

Simple to use

The product is great! much better then viewing Netflix thru my WII. I am happy with the free channels but was hoping to be able to get some basic live TV. I canceled my cable 7 months ago and have been saving a ton of $$$$. Not to mention the aggravation of dealing with the late fees and other costs involved with cable.
