Works good!

We bought this so we could access the WWE Network, but were pleasantly surprised with the apps that come on Roku! We have a Smart TV the has apps, but with the extras from Roku it's really cool! Only drawback, was having to make another trip to the store to buy the HDMI cable!

Unauthorized Annoyance

I would love product if I didn't have to unplug before I use because of the unauthorized message. It's not my video cord as I checked. It gets really annoying when I'm ready to go to bed but have to get back up just to use it.

W/in 6 months freezes up & shuts down often

After owning a Roku 2 for about 2 years it started to die on us so we decided to buy a Roku 3. It was great for about 6 months. After about 6 months it started to freeze and shut itself down while watching programs. Other issues include that sometimes it will not allow you to rewind or forward in a program, the sound is off (or set wrong) when a program starts and we must manually change the sound settings every time. In addition, there are channels such as Hulu that do not work properly on the 3 - the recently watched and my lists are missing when you enter the channel.
Has its quirks but we still are happier with it than we were with cable or satellite!

Bought a couple months ago and was pretty impressed with the UI and search. But then about a month and a half ago I went to turn it on and nothing just a flashing light. I bought the Amazon Fire TV and haven't looked back. Also the Roku 3 gets extremely hot.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Few months later and i'm still loving this tiny object more than anything. Bye bye overpriced, useless cable (yes comcast and verizon monopolies i'm talking to you). The roku 3 is everything i imagined and then some! Love the HD picture quality, love the speed, love the programming. What more can you ask for?? So get off the couch, return your cable box and get your roku player today!

Purchased Roku 3 a couple of months ago completely ignorant of expectations. OMG! I now find myself more on Roku than on cable. Just sweeeet streamlining away to the tv. I have purchased two more as gifts for family. Great product.

Best media streaming device period.

I love my roku 3. I bought this simply because I was tired of lugging around my game system to the living room and watching my netflix and or hulu accounts. With the roku 3 being about as big as a smartphone you will never have to worry about space saving again. Not only do you save space with the roku 3 but also it uses only a tiny bit of power compared to dvd players or game consoles. The device is very simply to set up and create your accounts on all the different media streaming services available on the roku marketplace. I love the remote control with the ability to plug in a headset and listen to your show or movie while someone is reading a book or sleeping near you. Also the roku 3 has a usb connection so if you have movies or music on a usb stick and wanna play it you can :) If your heavy into netflix or any other media streaming service and have access to internet then I recommend getting this.
