Roku - a happy replacement for Apple TV.

I got Apple TV in January for a birthday present, but it had a major malfunction in August so I took it back to Best Buy for a replacement. While there I saw Roku and bought and hooked it up right away. It is so much better than Apple TV, which we seldom use anymore! Thank you!

Delivers lots of apps

The selection of apps is amazing, however (and not Roku's fault) HBO Go is not an option due to my cable company, which is one of the reasons why I bought it for. I wish I knew this before purchasing.

Very good but needs some fixes

I bought this almost a year ago. It has been really great. I originally bought the Roku so I would stop using my laptop and Wii.
Just recently I have been experiencing some sound issues: the tone/voices would sound deeper. Freezing issues when the system would not respond to the remote. Both were fixed by unplugging the hdmi cord or the power plug.
Despite the minor issues, the system has worked as expected.

I purchased it several months ago because I got tired is streaming from my DVD player. I went from regular streaming delays to none at all. The unit functions great. I do find myself spending more money on new releases, so eventually something has to go. Cable? I'm not quite ready to let go.

I researched thoroughly and this was the best for my needs.
I appreciate the versatile options and simplicity. My only concern is that it seems to run very hot. At first, I left it plugged in all the time, but because it gets so hot, I unplug it when not using it.
