Roku 3 as I see it

Controller with enter function not in the center is aggravating and annoying.
Fonts on Netflix's movie descriptions are uncomfortably small.
Graphical Users Interface and navigation of menu's is somewhat cumbersome
and significantly different from previous Roku units.
But access to YouTube more than makes up for the short comings listed above.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I've had two of these for about a year and really LOVE them. I have them connected via ethernet to my network. I had two Roku 2XDs and replaced them with the Roku 3. I am so happy I did.

I bought my Roku 3 in April 2013, and I use it every day. I stream Netflix, Amazon Prime, Time Warner Cable, The Blaze and MLS Live and it works great. I never get a loading icon, it just plays. I love my Roku 3!

Cable or not

Perhaps I though this little box will be replacing my cable, but I was wrong. I like to watch instant tv and every channel I like, history, learning and many other channels, but this not the case. I hate to go to a menu and spend hours searching for something that is not similar to cable. Perhaps in the future this product will eliminate my cable, but for now nothing in the market can't.

Wanted more access to foreign stations and classic movies....roku provided me with the ability to have both. Excellant product, has to be rebooted every now and then, but anyone who's had a computer knows that that's part of the deal.

Much faster then the older generation Roku

I had streaming problems with my new Roku. Between buffering, getting kicked out of the show we were watching and terrible video quality, I was ready to RMA this thing.
But the good news is there is a fix! Roku's by default are set to "automatic" for their download speed. You must change the speed from "automatic" to 3.5 mbs in a hidden screen. In order to get to that screen, one must push (quickly in succession): 5x Home/ 3x Rwd/ 2x Ffw
It might take you a try or two to get it but you will. Once I made the change I never had problems again.
It does get very warm, so be aware of this when selecting its place of use. I turn mine off when not in use to avoid the high temps it puts off.
All in all, a great device to own if you are a cable cutter and your ISP does not throttle your connection speed.

Nothing to watch

I bought this a year ago, and they just now sent me an invite to review it. Turn it on maybe 3 or 4 times a month. All the channels have the same old boring stuff. Nothing new. Very slow to start up and switch between channel options.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
