I've had my Roku 3 box for about 3 months now and I love it! I got rid of my Time Warner Cable, and replaced it with Netflix. Once in a while I have to reboot my router, which sometimes means rebooting the Roku box too, but that's the router, not Roku. The new search option is excellent since it searches all the content options, not just the ones you're subscribed to. I can listen to the TV in bed with the remote headphone jack, which my wife is grateful for. For once, a great product that does what it's supposed to do.

Waste of money

Bought the Roku 3 and it worked as advertised for about 6 weeks. Now, when streaming only the sound comes through while the screen displays "HDCP Unauthorized. Content Disabled". I have been to numerous online forums and tried the various suggestions for correcting this and alas, none have proven fruitful. Not only am I out $99 for the device but more for buying new HDMI cables (which seemed to fix the problem for a fraction of troubled souls but not me). If you are contemplating getting the Roku 3 I strongly urge you to search "Roku 3 HDCP Unauthorized. Content Disabled" on the internet and read the myriad tales of frustration and woe. At first I was very impressed with the device. Now I can't wait for my $35 Cromecast to arrive.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

After six months it's finally streaming OK. It would be nice if the instructions mentioned streaming isn't improved by download speed, it's all about signal strength. In a Roku chat session I was advised to have Verizon change my service from channel 6 to channel 11 for less traffic. It worked. Roku should also tell customers they might need a network amplifier if streaming issues persist. Lastly, is there a web site that reviews the channels and gives a brief review of each one? They're all different, but similar.

With all those channels on satellite and so few with anything to watch, the Roku has been a blessing. I can watch my favorite British detective stories on Acorn, catch up on popular shows I've missed on Hulu, watch my Netflix streaming selections, and even Amazon Prime. There are more options available but it's easy to use and I've really gotten a lot of good out of it over the last two or three years.

I have had the ROKU 3 for a few days now and I have to say so far it has done better than I thought that it would! I used to use my PS3 for streaming Netflix and h+ and it would constantly give errors of connection problems or PSN sign outs, etc. So far, this device hasn't froze r anything and has VERY minimal buffering on my 15 mbps internet connection. I really enjoy the variety of channels offered over the competition too!!!

Like the title, happy to have it, but it's like they felt forced to put it out, so they gave us a minimal UI. There's no On Demand, no My SXM. Wish it was like the smart phone app. And you have to sign in every time, it should remember you name/password.

I bought this a month ago because my new sharp 80" had very few smart software options. I was specifically after Amazon. Roku was surprisingly easy to install and use. Very easy to add/delete software. Love the Youtube and pairing with smartphone.
