To bad it does not come installed on HDTV

I bought this 2 years ago and it ok I like to see it offer the NFL channel and perhaps it would have me some money. It reports to have 1000 channels and that may be true however many of them are repeats of other channels contents. Also it be great if they could get local channels on it. but for 99 dollars a person could do worse with their money

No Work Cable Cutting!

I've been been a cable cutter for over a year now, and my Roku 3 was a simple solution to serving up all my entertainment. PLEX allows me to stream video content from my PC or my tablet. The Netflix, Hulu and Amazon Prime apps allow me to stream all my shows and movies. One of my favorite things to do is pull up my subscription list for YouTube on my tablet and beam it to my Roku.
I'm very technically savvy, but didn't want to go through all the setup and configuration of a Raspberry Pi or Apple TV custom setup. The Roku does the same thing either of those can do, was cheaper at the time and very simple to setup. I recommend the Roku 3 to anyone looking to commit to the life of a cable cutter.
My only complaint would be that the majority of the content comes from other pay services. Many of the free content you get for the Roku is public access TV caliber programming, and there really isn't an app or service out there right now that will allow you to view live events like The Oscars, sporting events or local news.

Crashes frequently. Many other options out there like chromecast, smart tvs, smart bluray players, xbox etc... All do the same thing. This product does not standout.

I'm happy with the Roku 3. I DO wish it were easier to "Key in" titles, etc. The current system is slow.

Perfect for my family

We have had so many complications with our PS3 which was great for awhile. The Roku3 has literally met our every need and its absolutely perfect for what my family needs. it works flawlessly. The earbud option for quite listening is amazing.

My Roku 2 was much better,I had to constantly re-boot to make it work.
