As a nontechnical person, I found the Roku 3 easy to install and easy to figure out. I wish CNN and HGTV were available without other subscriptions. I'll next look into an antenna and drop my cable provider.

Nice, but DVR features need improvement

Nice little unit--the best of its kind--but I can't help but compare the Pause, FF, RW, etc features to every DVR that I've used. I wish the FF & RW would show the program advancing so I could know where to stop. It only shows the progress bar at the bottom, so I have to guess where to stop, then wait for it to reload. (Maybe I need to upgrade my internet connection so that goes faster?) It's great if you don't use those features much. But that's why I only use it occasionally and haven't cut the cable yet.

Great but it does freeze

I bought this back in March and I use it on a daily basis, there is no off button and so it is always on. After a week or two it will freeze once and twice and I would have to disconnect and reconnect for it to work. Is this normal? I wish it had other apps like spotify, also the youtube app has glitches. I would find a youtube video on my phone or computer but when I try looking for it on my roku I cannot locate the video.

We purchased the Roku last year as we are 'cable free' but subscribe to Amazon, Hulu, Netflix and so on. We needed an easy, cheap and lasting solution. The Roku 3 was the answer. Loads of apps, easy set up and usability. The perfect way to go cable free.

I got it as a birthday present cause I had been talking about it so much, since I heard of Roku through a friend who had it. He strongly recommended it and I have to agree: I LOVE IT!!! No problems so far after 4 month. Easy to navigate and smooth streaming.

All I Need

We cut the cable service, except for 20 mbps internet service, bought a Roku 3 for each of our 3 TVs and bought subscriptions to Hulu2 and Netflix. I've found that Netflix and Pandora is all we need. This is absolutely great service, and so easy to use.
