Way Faster

This is by far the fastest of the many Rokus I've had. So far, it has been awesome, but there are two things I don't love - one is a lacking feature, the other is a weird performance glitch.
First off, the lacking feature is the removal of a dedicated audio output. It's probably not a big deal for most people, but my particular (somewhat outdated) setup requires one for me to use my surround sound and projector in tandem.
The second issue is a weird performance glitch where out of nowhere the audio slows down and drops like an octave. Once this happens, I can only fix it by unplugging the box and restarting. It's a pain, but it hasn't seemed to happen yet mid-movie/show. It only happens between episodes or at the onset of a movie.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Headset plugs into remote

I love being able to plug a headset into the remote. All the other features work great, too. Roku is simple to set up and is a great value for the money.

Great concept, not as stable as the older models

The concept is very good. A large number of internet based channels made available through a small and simple box.
We've had a few previous models and have always been please with them, however we are now on our 2nd Roku 3 as we're finding it not very stable. The screen freezes up and tech support tells you to just change the batteries or reboot. Rebooting is what makes it work, however it should not voluntarily freeze either in the middle of a show or when it is on stand-by.

Good, but Roku 3 is not worth the extra money

I own several Rokus. It's an excellent product. However, the Roku 3 provides little additional benefit over the cheaper models. I would have been just as happy saving the $40.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

In today's streaming world, who needs cable?

I love my Roku. I can stream whatever I want, when I want and it is so easy to setup and access all of my various accounts (netflix, Amazon Instant Video, Hulu, etc). My boyfriend saw how user friendly and high performing the Roku is and immediately bought one for his home. Thank you, Roku!

Great Improvement Over the Old Models

The Roku 3 is much faster than the old Roku HD we had, and the universal search is a great feature too. The killer feature, though, is the remote's headphone jack. This is super handy and should be on every media streamer. I took away one star because the software is still a little funky - sometimes it freezes and acts strange.
