Great features and very easy to navigate

I received a ROKU 3 as a gift. After using it a very short time I purchased an additional unit for a bedroom TV. It has vastly improved the amount of TV available to view.
I would recommend this to a friend!

The roku is a great companion to your non smart tv. Lots of features, channels, other options. Should have more hdmi connections for the next model. Should have Google features too.

I have had this for about 6 months and have had issues with both Roku 3's I bought. The both freeze up every 2 to 3 days and and I have to unplug and plug back in. Other than that they work alright. I would definitely try a different kind of streaming device if I bought another.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Roku, my Go-To streaming device

I've owned various streaming devices including the Apple TV, Chromecast and a Smart TV, but my Roku has been the one that I've relied on the most. Excellent range of channels, updated and easy-to-navigate UI and best of all, headphone jack on the remote.
When I upgraded from the Roku 2 to the Roku 3, I bemoaned the loss of the audio-out on the device. I still miss that since it makes for more complex wiring, but the headphones on the remote mostly makes up for that.
On the downside, I've had a few lockups/crashes where the picture freezes and does not respond to remote commands, but usually the device restarts on its own and I can get back to my program pretty quickly. Fortunately this happens very infrequently and do not detract from the overall experience.
I've liked my Roku enough to buy and gift it to 2 other people. So that should say something.

Fast, easy to install - works!

I have both an older Roku 2 XD unit and the Roku 3. Both are excellent units and work very well. I did notice the 3 boots faster, it seems to buffer the video streams faster and doesn't get interrupted in the play back process. While it is not very annoying and only happens when the internet is acting up on the Roku 2, It hasn't happened to me at all with the Roku 3.
The content available is excellent, the programming and setup on the unit are well guided and you never need to open the instructions - just read the TV screen.
The audio port on the remote is a very nice touch and it enables you to use your headphones and stay seated in your chair - never disturbing the others in your home.
