great things do come in little packages!

I purchased the Roku 3 about a month ago. Installation was simple and direct. As I became familiar with the product, mostly by pushing buttons (directions were a little vague in this department) I was continually surprised at the Roku's level of sophistication, especially when I left a program, turned everything off, including my modem, and left it all for another day. Voila! next day, it brought me right back to where I had left off. No backtracking, or anything, and I was able to resume the program.
When broadband use in our area is heavy there is usually some loading and re-loading of a program. This can happen frequently. It is no more of inconvenient
than ten or twelve ads we are forced to endure on regular television. The free channels run the gamut from pretty good programing to not so good stuff depending on your likes and dislikes.
The bottom line: for less than $100 (I bought mine at Sam's for $85, and the package did include the HDMI cable and ear buds) I am thrilled, and watch television via the Roku almost exclusively.

Easy, Seamless, & Feature Packed!

I recently bought the Roku 3, and it is beyond amazing! It has an almost unlimited selection of great channels, yet it is seamless to operate! Another great feature is the headphone jack; it lets me listen privately to my movies and shows. I can also play games on it with the motion sensing remote. This is among one of the best tech purchases I have ever made, and I recommend you do the same.

ROKU has opened some doors to enjoy a great TV experience. If ROKU was able to allow me to access locally broadcast TV shows it would be even more fantastic.

ROKU 3 beats Apple TV hands down!

Bought Roku 3 last summer 2013 and have been very pleased. Too bad I bought Apple TV previously. Roku blows away Apple. Have hardly used Apple since. Roku's remote is years ahead of Apple too. Much more user friendly, plus the kicker is the convenience of a headphone jack {which I use A LOT!} in the remote. I watch whatever and my wife can sleep. Priceless. Easy setup, simple interface, FF and RR work much better, you can see time remaining easily when using pause, FF, and RR--and what's really handy is the 7 second replay button. When using this feature, you get the dialogue you missed cc'd on screen. Super nice! Roku Tech. Support is great, the channel selection is great...basically the best entertainment pkg out there. I have Time Warner cable at home, so I can see lot's of premium content on the TWC Channel on Roku for free as well. Highly recommended.

Roku needs to update the software for Roku 1 and 2

Roku needs to update the software for Roku 1 and Roku 2. I have invested in several of these units for friends and family and we cannot get the Youtube channel. Competitor products such as NEOTV for $39 does give users Youtube.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

My sister introduced me to Roku and now we have 3 of them. I even bought one for my son and his wife. I am so spoiled now, I can't imagine doing without it.
