Wonderful Addition

We bought this as an addition to our satellite service because we can watch this if the weather is bad and the satellite is out. Our 3 year old grandson loves to watch cartoon on Netflix and Hulu Plus.

Good Device

My son gave me one in February, and in June the unit quit working. However I got
another one last month, since I cannot find the receipt for the old one. It's a good
piece of device, but I question it's durability.

Easy setup,easy to use

I got the Roku 3500RW Streaming Stick first & liked it, so I decided to try the Roku 3 4200R. I've had the Roku 3 for a little over a month and I've really enjoyed it. It has games, but I haven't tried any of them. I even like the headphone jack in the remote with the in-ear headphones that comes with this model. I have a satellite service also for now, but I plan on disconnecting the satellite at some point to save a little money. I will miss some shows that I watch, but I can find a lot of them using the Roku. Even though you'll have to pay a little a month using some services like Netflix, HuluPlus, Amazon Instant Video, or rent/buy a movie/ tv show using M GO Movies & TV, Redbox Instant, Vudu Movies & TV, Blockbuster On Demand, Target Ticket...., I think it would be worth it to some. I've only tried Netflix for now, but I've really liked it so far. With the Roku, there are some channels that don't require a subscription & you don't have to rent or buy to watch them, but it will require that you have a decent internet connection using Wi-Fi or Ethernet. It does take a little time to research the channels & decide if you want to pay for any channels like Netflix, but you do have things you can watch with no fees. I have read where a channel that was once free was now a paid channel, but I wouldn't let that deter a person from trying a Roku device though.

Need access to NESN

I am happy with the product - but there is a major hole. In the Northeast we get access to the Boston Red Sox via NESN - ROKU does not offer access to this - which means NO Red Sox baseball - Please add NESN as a channel. ASAP

I bought the ROKU 3 for me and then my mom started watching Downtown Abbey on Amazon Prime - I had to buy another ROKU for my back bedroom. I love it!
