I received the Roku as a present and I am very happy with its performance, ease of operation, and for all the viewing opportunities (channels) offered. I highly recommend this product.

Great Media Player!

First of all, I have to say it's a GREAT player, Roku 3 is packed with features and is easy to set-up and use. The only problem is that, the features only work if the product actually functions correctly. I bought this product and with a total of 10-20 minutes of use it just gave up on me, the screen just went black. With that being said, again, it's a great product and is very worth the $99, but I still wouldn't recommend it to people due to its problems I wouldn't want others to be disappointed like I was.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

This was the best purchase I've made in a long time. Simple to set up, more content than I could possibly want, perfect quality streaming. Amazing value that paid for itself within two months of use. The only regret I have is not cutting that cable cord sooner!

No 1080i output, doesn't work for me.

Strange that the only HDMI outputs are 1080p and 720p. My HDTV is limited to 1080i or 720p. Why did Roku not allow 1080i output?

It is closer to sliced bread than the wheel..

It is closer to sliced bread, but not as important as the wheel.. Simply put it is better than cable tv in certain respects.. It is an addition to cable, very basic cable.. What it will do is change the way you watch tv, since there is a good lot of VOD (Video On Demand) you get to watch what you want to watch, when you want to watch it.. Next up I would say the channels are better than cable.. Again in this case the tier you want is yours to build, not be forced to pay for fifty to get the one you want but rather to get the one you want and leave the rest behind.. There are no tiers this way.. You can have as few as one channel and as many as your Roku will handle.. To me by the time you buy a Roku you have developed a taste in viewing that is concise (not smaller, but rather exact) and that is what Roku gives you..

disruption of servide while watching Roku

I bought Roku 2 months ago the only problem I have is that sometimes the movie I'm watching is interrupted by messages as "there is a problem with this movie, try later, etc." It is disruptive.
