A Lot to Like, But Not Without Problems

Overall, the Roku 3 has been a great replacement for our cable box. Easy to use, nice-looking menus, and reasonable responsiveness. The channels are easy to add and navigate.
The downside is that I have technical issues I can neither diagnose or resolve. Primarily, I get audio that drops in pitch several octaves on a number of Netflix shows for no apparent reason. The video and audio play at normal speed, but everyone sounds like they're on bad drugs. I can reboot and still have the same problem. I'm on a 75Mbps FIOS connection, so the bandwidth shouldn't be a problem. It would also be nice if there were a menu-based reboot option for this always-on device. Unplugging it and plugging it back in feels very low tech to me.
If it weren't for that, I'd have nothing to complain about.

The remote has never worked correctly on my Roku 3; the green led on the remote just does not came on. Every time I use it I have to go through a series of replacing batteries, resetting the Roku, pushing the button on the back on the remote, replacing batteries again and again before the green indicator light comes on and I am able to use the remote then 10 min to an hour later the remote quits working. I do not know if it is a defective remote or if it goes to sleep IE power saving mode and just wont wake up because the green led on the remote does not come on when the buttons are pressed; I know it is not Roku 3 set top box because it works with my phone just fine.

There's a glitch

I brought this a couple of months ago and I have reservations. I returned my first one thinking that there was a problem with that one and the new one has the same issue.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Easy to use and loaded with features

For the most part, I have been extremely happy with my Roku 3. The reason I did not give it 5 stars, is the fact that I purchased it mainly because I liked the ability to plug in earphones and listen without bothering anyone else in the room. Unfortunately, that feature stopped working a few months after I purchased the Roku 3.

Much as I love the concept of Roku, it falls short of its potential. For example, it offers only a partial list of available Netflix programming and get's defensive when called out of the subject. Not what I expected, as Netflix accounts for 1/3 off all internet traffic if the U.S. Roku can and should do better than that. The device itself works pretty well aside from that, and I do recommend it.

I bought this Roku more than six months ago and it has worked flawlessly. It is easy to add channels and so far it has provided the content I need.

Very Big Step Towards Cable Cutting!

I have three other rokus(Roku1), and this one is so much better. The interface (due to the faster processor) is so much quicker. No pushing the button and waiting.I had never paid that much attention to Youtube before, but now I have it on Roku I use it a lot(movies,documentaries and much more. The Roku 3 is great and I would recommend it to everyone.

Perfect except for the ENTER button

Almost all aspects of this product have been improved over Roku 2 but the movement of the ENTER button or return from the center post to its own station is something I just cannot get used to.
