I've had this a year and a half to two years and simply love it. Really no need for cable except for local news.

Playing anything on one of the channels is a breeze. Playing movie files can be hit or miss.

I have #2, i needed another for my family room. I had bought a cheaper competitor version, i didnt like how slow it was. It wld pause to download!!! I returned it & bought #3. I love it!

It Sucks

I replaced my Roku 2 when the USB port became damaged. I never had any other issues with it. Roku 3 has been a constant source of irritation. Constantly drops internet connection...reloads programming over and over and over...very disappointed.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

My son has Apple TV, and it is so much more complicated than the Roku. I have a Roku 3 and a Roku 2. I really like the navigation on the Roku 2 better. I just bought the Roku 3 as it had a little more functionality.
