Amazing quality

We already had Amazon Prime and wanted to take advantage of the free streaming content this provides. We have cable with movie channels, but for a movie buff the Roku provides a lot more content. We needed a Roku 3 which has a hardwire connection because the bedroom where we are using it does not get a decent wireless signal. The signal/connection is accomplished with a TP Link which has two boxes, one at the site of the router and one which accepts the Roku at the tv, and sends the signal via the house electric wiring. In the seven months we have been using the Roku, twice the TP Link lost its link and had to be repaired (accomplished by plugging them next to each other for a few seconds). The Roku itself has been flawless and the quality is better than cable HD programming.

My Roku

Was looking for a game player when a Verizon FIOS tech advised me to try Roku. He was correct. Very easy to install and able to log in to Netflix, Pandora etc made we wonder why I didn't do this before. Ear buds work great. Sound quality is excellent.

Not currently useful to view some video

I purchased it in January with hopes to view my recorded TV channels as well as live TV from my cable card tuner. Well, that flopped, apparently it's not compatible.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I am thrilled with my Roku 3--I am able to watch TV shows I had missed, movies and documentaries that I would never have even known were out there. I love it. If I can set it up, anyone can!

Easy to use

I am enjoying the Roku 3's interface more than the original model, but I wish it didn't stay constantly connected to the internet when I'm not using it. As a result, I end up unplugging it and using my Apple TV more.

This machine was easy to set up. Not one call to a service tech. That alone was worth the price. I can't believe how quick it gets to the channels we selected.

the best choice ever

didn't really know what I can get out of this player just wanted to try it for my child. It really is the best choice I've made, easy enough for my 6 year old to use and dad is loving this too.
