Easy interface, many channels, nearly perfect!

The Roku is the only device that supports Netflix, HBO AND showtime, so it was the clear choice for us. Wife approved. Only drawback is more live tv stations and if it were easier for the layman to create a streaming channel themselves. Adding mostly the live tv stations though, greater access to the big ones, Fox, NBC and ABC. Also, more access for sports than just ESPN would be ideal. Fox Sports, NBC Sports and BeIN (since I already have access via Fios) would make it simply perfect. Forget the picture sharing or videos via Plex, add the actual content.

If you were to buy this and pay for a subscription for Netflix and Hulu-Plus at 17.00 Per month you will have paid for your device in 2 months if your cable bill was like mine @ $70.00 per month for "extended basic".
Get an HD Antenna for OTA broadcast (Local weather / news), and the Roku and never have another cable bill again, it's that simple.

Roku 1 is tiny and wonderful....but there is so much to get used to. the pauses for loading programs, the initial continuous entering emails and names, I have a long name!, the fact that even paid programs are last years and Ive seen most... I personally am hooked on the news, and on Roku the choice is the usual than on regularTV, but all fragmented, or weird stuff . Maybe I made a mistake, maube I will return Roku. Its like a great idea but not yet functioning properly.....

I bought this about two months ago and was so excited about the addition of YouTube to the channel lineup. I like that feature, along with the earbuds that plug in to the remote, however, there are things I do not necessarily like. Like the earbuds--they drain the battery life of the remote very quickly. Also, I'll be watching a movie or tv show, when out of nowhere, the Roku 3 resets itself! It's done this at least seven times or so, and I've only owned it for a couple months. The way Netflix appears on this Roku is different from my older Roku, and it freezes and does strange things sometimes. Not sure whether it's Netflix or the Roku 3. Other than that, I really like it! I truly enjoy being able to watch YouTube on my tv! I still enjoy the earbuds on my remote, despite the battery-draining effect. You can actually leave the room and still hear what is playing on your Roku. I guess I'm fairly satisfied overall.

The TV Easy Button

We bought one a month ago and then ordered another we love the Roku so much. So many channel selections, east setup, space saver as it is small. We are saving a bundle on cable bills and can select what we want to watch as opposed to having multiple channels we do not watch and paying for them. I would highly recommend the Roku.

Good but..

It will freeze on the home screen and I have to reset it. Or it logs me out of Netflix and Hulu and I have to store my log in credentials again. Sometimes it just won't respond to the buttons I am pressing. Either way, there is a lot of resetting going on.
