Best investment I've made in decades

Of all the technology out there these days, this is amongst the most reliable and useful of any. More free channels than anyone could watch in a lifetime. Even the pay channels are totally worth it. Clear HD picture, super fast response, very little drain on my router resources (does not slow my computer when in use and my computer is a clunky 10yo Linux system), and extremely reliable. And the several free versions of Angry Birds included is a huge bonus! We started with the Roku 2 a couple of years back and upgraded to the Roku 3 earlier this year and have never been happier with our media. In fact we still use the #2 in our bedroom and it still works wonderfully. Between the two boxes in our house, we've had only one issue ever which was solved by customer service, late in the evening, in about 10 minutes. I bet you can't name me another tech product with that kind of service and reliability! If you watch a lot of news and movies like we do - don't settle for any other medium. I know anyone reading this doesn't know me from Adam, but trust me anyway - I was an electronics engineer in the Navy and build computers for a living - and I swear this is the best tech product you will buy in this decade at least.

great system

it was a gift and I just enjoy it....I'm able to watch lots of movies, TV programs and don't have a monthly bill for cable.
I'm going to buy my brother one because I have been raving about it and now he wants one...he was laid off of his job so this will help him in not paying the high cable bill.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Movies, Movies and More!!!

I bought this product a while ago but did not have the correct tv to use it. I finally bought a new tv and went to set it up. It is worth every penny I paid for it. Love , love it. At first I had problems setting it up until I realized my mistake. Make sure during set up that you click wired or wireless depending on which one you are using. Set up is very easy as long as you follow the instructions. Please do not be afraid to try it, you will not be disappointed. I can't wait to return my DVR to the cable company. One less bill to pay. A friend encouraged me to get it when I asked about it because she had one. I am not sorry I took the plunge and got it. I intend to get one for each of my sisters.

I've had this for a few months now and I like that it will play the next episode automatically I don't have to click it manually. It also has a great streaming look.

Variety of programs

We have had the Roku for a few months. It has a number of programs/movies that are very enjoyable. My only complaint is that it takes forever to load some of the movies/programs. The advertisements will sometimes loop over and over or not even play.

Be prepared to enter a credit card to activate the Roku. Had I known this was required, I probably wouldn't have purchased it. Unfortunately, I couldn't return it as I had it too long before before activating it. My fault, I should have installed it sooner.
That said, the video streaming works very well, just wish it was easier to search / find Youtube videos. Have to use the remote to move the cursor to each letter in the search. This is very time consuming--hope they improve this search interface--a small keyboard on the remote would work faster. Hope they continue to add more free channels--and these channels add more content. I bought a 3-month Hulu-Plus subscription that I will be trying soon to supplement the free channels. Really like the Roku to watch Youtube craft, "how to" and classic TV videos. This is a nice adjunct to my cable "On Demand." Even with the above caveats the Roku is definitely a Keeper.
