We purchased this product about a month ago and we hardly watch it because of a couple things. One thing is that you have to buy a months worth of a product. Another thing is that you can't watch live programs.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Excellent minimalistic streaming device.

I really like the ROKU 3 it provided super fast navigation between programs and excellent streaming quality. The unit does have 1 short coming that is the lack of a web broswer that allows you to sign on to a wireless network that requires user to enter an username and password berefore it will allow user onto the network. Also the remote control IR database needs to be updated for custom integration.

I've bought all of the major media streamers but Roku 3 beats all of them hands down. The User Interface is simple and intuitive, there are many channels available with a ton of free online content from way back in time till now (horror, sci fi, independent films, cartoons from the 50's and 60's, and much more. Get one if you haven't already got one. You won't regret it!

Great Concept, But Needs Improvements

I bought the Roku about 4 months ago to watch some back episodes of my favorite shows. Every once in a while it will loose my account numbers to HBO and other providers. And to get linked back up is a pain. Today it wouldn't link up to my HBO account through search I had to go in through the channel it self. When we got online support, they just said "are you sure it's not putting up an error code". Not a great item in my opinion.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I have it for almost a year and have never fail me. Great features and easy to operate. The outlook of the box look beautiful placing in my hall.

i like everything about it free movies,tv shows,cartoons, and music. the problem i have with it is it gets too hot, too fast all the time and im scared its gonna stop working on me.

In our world of rapid tech advance it seems like every new toy makes integration with what you have very difficult. Our Roku is definitely the exception. Right out of the box it made our streaming access simple and seamless, which it was absolutely not before. Thanks Roku!
