Not Quite Perfect

The Roku 3 is well worth the money you will spend for it if you have Netflix and Hulu. I also recommend HBO Go which you can get on-line without having to pay for a cable subscription with many providers. Between those 3 the service pays for itself as you will get a great picture as well as terrific connection to movie catalogs, plus a lot of other apps well worth your time.
My only quibble is that the Roku 3 does not directly plug into a stereo (doesn't have the connections) so if you have an old TV without audio out you have a problem. But that is about all that is wrong with it.

Better then Apple TV

I went from Apple TV to the Roku. Plays Amazon, has lots more content - and isn't limiting. Apple hasn't added content in over a year. Less expensive, more capable, easier to use.

My wife watches HDTV (and Roku).

The best thing about my wife's cable is the authorization it provides for certain Roku cable-based "channels." The World Cup could be streamed live via Roku/ESPN to any room lacking cable with authorization from her cable provider (not Comcast). Roku/DishWorld provides live subscription service to her favorite native/foreign language channel. 90% of my favorite movies are not on Netflix or Amazon Prime; but many are available as inexpensive rentals.

Works very well. We keep discovering more content there. Although we primarily use Netflix, Amazon Instant Videos and PBS. Certainly glad we bought it.

Owned for over a year with no issues. Bought our 2nd and are on our way to our 3rd. More TV shows than we could ever watch. If you like BBC English mysteries, there are plenty that we have discovered and very much enjoyed. Roku makes it easy to find. Getting very close to canceling cable service due to experience with Roku.

I have had the Roku 3 for 6 months now and i couldn't be happier. i have more things to watch than you can imagine. the only pay channel that i have is Netflix, everything else is free. They're are some channels that only provide clips instead of full episodes so i'm still in the learning process. old movies, new movies, scary movies, educational shows. Every genre represented. Ciao cable!

Cable is a thing of the past, and Roku3 is the best streaming appliance I have tried. And I have tried many. its ease of use for the new user as well as very granular customization for advanced users is a great combo. I returned my Amazon Fire box and bought 2 more Roku for the rest of the house.
