Well worth it

Almost all the apps work in the way you would hope for. I use PLEX for my movie collection but it doesn't do SLINGBOX for me. That would have been icing on the cake, but this is a must buy. Even the wife can use it........

I am happy with my Roku box. The shows and movies I stream from Netflix and Hulu show up vividly on my television screen without ever experiencing any technical difficulty. The only thing that disappointed me was that Roku advertises that there are many free channels to stream video from. However, almost all of those channels require paid subscriptions and are useless otherwise. Despite this, I do appreciate the money Roku is saving me after switching from cable.

This is my second Roku. Most of the shows I love are available on Channels available through Roku at a fraction of the cost of cable or satellite TV. Between the HD Digital Antenna and the Roku I am set.

Good Roku for Home use

The new user interface is easy to use. Setup is quick and simple. My biggest complaint with this and previous Roku models is that there is no way to connect to a wireless network that uses a captive portal to request user input (password and/or T&C's acceptance.) Therefore, I've had trouble using my Rokus when traveling and trying to connect to a hotel wireless network. At home, the Roku 3 is great.

No on/off switch

This little unit works pretty well and the menu items are very easy to use. my only complaint is that there is no on/off switch so it's difficult to tell what state the device is in when you turn the TV off. Is it still "on"? Is it still consuming bandwidth? Is it still pinging the router it's connected too? Occasionally the Roku get's "stuck" and the only way out is to physically unplug the AC power and plug it in again.

Got mine about 6mos ago, lots of free things to choose from. Drawback is there are alot of features you have to pay for and this can add up quickly! But if you watch what you sign up for you can still save lots of money over cable, dish, u-verse. I say get one.
