Who needs a smart TV

I like this model because it gives you the option of using a LAN connection. It does everything a smart TV does and more. All it needs is a browser to fully browse the internet as well.

Overall I am very happy with my Roku. I own a 2nd one for my bedroom as well. With the Roku and an additional purchase of Playon, I was able to cut my cable bill in half. While I also purchased an antenna to get over the air content, I cannot recall the last time I watched live tv as all my viewing needs are taken care of with the products above. Even though the networks have access to shows and what not through their website, it would be great if Roku could make that same content available on the public channels they offer. You can also look at private channel content as well. Google that for details as there are some nice offerings there too.

Easy to Set Up and Use

I heard about Roku from a couple of friends, and decided to try it myself. It's exceeded my expectations in every way. It's very easy to setup, simple to use, and the available content (a lot of which is free) is amazing.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great piece for a guest or media room

Overall I'm pleased with the Roku 3 - The headphone jack in the remote is a nice trick that allows this to be used by guests or family members who don't want to disturb others in the home or who may keep different hours. Responsiveness is good overall, and having access to the TWC channel is a nice way to get my channels in another room without paying for another cable box.
I have a networked HD Homerun Prime to stream TV to my laptop and game consoles, I wish there was a good way to feed that stream to the Roku. Motion control is a little wonky from time to time but it works for what it's used for (not much). Other than that, I have no real complaints.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I bought this approximately 11 months ago. Connecting it to my WiFi was a breeze. In fact, it connected to my 5 GHz WiFi, which is the fastest. It streams very fast. If you pay attention, you will see "Loading..." on the screen for about 2 seconds. Then you're watching full speed with no further buffering.
I would recommend this to a friend!

No mirroring.

When I bought it I was hopping to get mirroring like Apple TV, since it has the appropriate hardware to do this(WiDi). But unfortunately this has not been addressed.
If I play a movie via USB stick, after about 30 mins of playing the movie will hang causing me to reboot Roku. So no mirroring and difficulty in playing USB how do you steam content from your PC to Roku without using some other application.
Also no youtube.
