Little nice player!

Just for those who are looking for a way to watch free content, be aware that this is a streaming box, so either you better have a tv provider like direct tv or other, or you can pay for individual channel subscriptions. If you have the money then you're good as the box is very easy to operate and it is real fast. It's a good purchase if you can afford the services.

Great, if you have a wired connection.

Overall I really like the Roku, it streams movies quite well. However the wifi antenna is so weak in it that you can't get a good connection. The Roku is literally sitting on the other side of the wall from the router. Laptop gets full signal sitting in the same room, the Roku gets an intermittent 2 bars of signal that drops out constantly and gets a very bad network speed. Can't even reliably stream at 480p. If I hard-wire it with an Ethernet cable, thing runs beautifully.
On top of that, since they updated the USB app that lets you read media plugged in from a USB, half my movies wont stream with audio because it appears they have dropped an audio format it one supported. For these reasons I havnt plugged the thing in for over a month.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I have had my Roku 3 for about one year now and it has all of the Web stations that I subscribe to and many more. The streaming speed has never let me down and I can always find what I want to watch. I only wish that there was a keyboard style remote for it. I have recommended the Roku to many people and they all give a positive response after purchase.

Excellent alternative to cable. But, after only a month mine became defective. Stuff happens, I guess. Now I'm waiting for a replacement.

I have had the roku 3 for about a month and like it a lot. It was a good buy. It is much faster than the first on i had. It loads almost instantly and very rarely buffers. Ditched direct tv and don't miss it at all.
