The Roku 3 iz 4 me!

Cut the cord on satellite tv. Had the wi-fi on a blu-ray player. Not a good interface for a tv junkie like me. Got the Roku. Programmed my Harmony remote to control it - easy peasy. I love the interface - the layout and the speed at which it responds. I love the search - I key in what I want to see and it shows me EVERYWHERE it's available. I love it so much I sprung for an extra one for the bedroom tv.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I have this connected with a cable, so can't comment on wireless performance. We have been very happy with the streaming capability - no skipping, no hesitation. We do have FIOS so that makes a difference.

There is not live streaming channels for news only recorded selections. If you want to watch shows/movies on netflix & hulu then you may find this useful. But I can use my laptop for that which is easier to navigate, especially on channels like YouTube etc.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Very easy to set up and use. Very fast to buffer.

When it's working it works well. Tried other brands and they did not work nearly as well. Gets very hot and then freezes. Power off and start all over. Changed the screen saver to digital clock which seems to have helped.

I have two Roku players, an XD and the 3. They were easy to set up, just plug and play really. There are enough channels available that there is something for everyone. I especially enjoy Acorn TV, all my favorite Brit shows are there.
