It's not great but it works

I've had the roku 3 for about six months and it works but it has a few glitches. For example, netflix won't load shows unless you press a bunch of the buttons on the remote about ten times. One of the great things about netflix is that the shows play continuously but the roku doesn't allow that because the next show won't load without pushing a bunch of buttons. A little annoying but in the end, it does what it needs to do. I would recommend roku, but not this version.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Not the functionality of a full fledged media PC, but I'm very happy with the free features for listening to music. It does not stream all content from my NAS, but enough to make me happy. If this is paired with a Netflix/Hulu subscription and amazon prime, then it gets exponentially better. In fact, if you DON'T have those services, I don't know if I would recommend this thing as highly.

Bought this Roku 3 to replace a Roku 2 that died after a year and a half of hard use. The Roku 2 was a nice unit...but the 3 is so much nicer than the 2! Faster, easier to use, works better, and doesn't freeze up like our Roku 2 did. I really like the RF remote, as one of our cats thinks sitting on top of the TV cabinet blocking the line of sight from the couch to the IR sensor on our devices is hilarious. (Bad kitty! Don't block the remote!) Over all, very happy with the Roku 3. I just wish we had faster internet service than DSL...as with the super slow speed provided by Bellsouth (AT+T) the unit does buffer quite a bit in higher resolutions.

Great Features, cheap remote

I love the Roku but the remote is a bit cheap. I am not a heavy user but my volume buttons for the headphone just stopped working.

Less freeze-ups than the Roku 2

I have 2 Roku 2s and one Roku 3. My Roku 2s would freeze up once in a while and I would have to let them cool off. This Roku 3 doesn't do that. The GUI on the Roku 3 is a bit more complicated than the 2, but the 3 can get Youtube while the 2s could not. Don't know if that's changed.

The stuff on regular tv in our area is really bad. If you do not have a converter box, or it you don't subscribe to expensive viewer levels, there is not much worth watching. We really enjoy what we find on ROKU.

This is a replacement for another streaming box of a different brand. We are very pleased witth this one in comparison. The one channel we miss is CNN.

Big improvement from my first Roku!

I stopped subscribing to cable years ago when I purchased my first Roku (Roku XD). It was a great little unit, but it crashed from time to time, and performance was pretty slow. The Roku 3 smashes through those problems with ease! I love the newer user interface and the responsiveness. The only problem I've had is with the Netflix app, but I can't exactly blame Roku for that. Overall the product is great and I recommend it!
