fair content, awkward to use, but getting closer

Slow to use -- perhaps partly my not stellar bandwidth.
Lack of keyboard is a hassle.
No good overview of what's available -- takes hours of slow looking around to find a few things of interest.
Overall, shows promise, but still a lot of obstacles.

Loses Wifi Signal

I have 3 Rokus in my house an LT, XD, and Roku 3 and my Roku 3 is the only one that loses WiFi connection randomly.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I bought my Roku 3 back in June, and it's literally transformed my TV-watching habits. I had decided to wean myself off of cable when my contract expires next month, but before I cut the cord I wanted a couple of months to see if I would be satisfied with just streaming and antenna. What I've discovered is that I pretty much don't tune into my cable channels any more. I used to come home from work and turn on the TV mostly for background noise -- but of course I would then be tempted to sit down and watch whatever was on. Now I only turn it on when I actually want to watch something. Amazing how much of your life you get back when you don't have TV as a constant distraction!
Regarding the technology, it's so easy to set up and I've not had a problem since. My wireless is downstairs and my Roku is upstairs - the connection has never dropped once. I also use the Roku app on my iPhone to navigate, which makes searching for programs by title easier since you can use the phone's virtual keyboard as opposed to the rather tedious hunt-and-peck method on the Roku interface.
Unless you're a true TV addict (which I'm not) there is plenty of programming available to keep you entertained. I subscribe to Netflix and Amazon Prime for movies and TV series, and I also play exercise videos from YouTube. There are other channels available that I haven't perused yet.
Overall, I'm pleased with the Roku and I'm looking forward to finally cutting the cable cord for good.

I bought the Roku 3 to get Netflix on my TV. It has many other options but I have only used it for Netflix so far. I had a first generation Roku box that was given to us by a friend. This version is so much more advanced and so much quicker downloading movies.
I would recommend this to a friend!

We actually have a total of three Roku 3s! We love the convenience and access they provide us to shows we really used to enjoy and new ones that we love to enjoy now!! Once you get one, you'll wonder how you ever lived without it :)
