Great Product!

I had been watching Netflix on my TV with a WII and had constant problems connecting to my WiFi and streaming movies. Out of total frustration I went online to search for an alternate device to stream movies to my TV and discovered the Roku, which I'd never heard of before. I bought the Roku 3 and haven't had a problem streaming movies since. I was also very pleasantly surprised to find the wide range of things I could now stream on my TV besides Netflix. I gave up on Dish after they raised my monthly rate three times in 18 months and my Roku has been a nice alternative to satellite TV. My only complaint about it would be that there is no way to increase the font size of the Roku's text, which I was able to do with Dish. I have a small (27") flat screen TV and from my couch I can't read the descriptions of movies and TV shows. But other than that I love the device.

We've had the Roku for about 6 months now. Its really no different than other devices. My Blu-Ray player actually provides the same function as the Roku, but its prone to freezing and blank screens. Our Roku is mostly use for Netflix and Amazon Prime. Hulu was a joke, don't waste your money. The device itself is fine. The only issue I had was quickly resolved after a firmware update. Maybe Roku should provide an email or popup window to let customers know when updates are available?
I wish more channels would see the value in the devices like the Roku and allow subscriptions without cable. Its silly to think someone with cable would actually have a Roku. Many of the channels on the device require a cable subscription for fully access to features. Why not just let me buy a SyFy, ESPN, or FX channel subscription through the Roku? Problem solved. Sadly, it seems we will forever be forced to pay a monthly cable fee for channels we never watch.

This is really a great little product at a fair price. It's small and sleek looking. I LOVE the UI, including the ease of use of the apps. The streaming quality is top notch. The remote is simple and easy to use. To get the 5th star, they need to do the following:
+ Get more content
+ Better thermal solution (the box gets pretty warm)
+ Allow a real "OFF" state. I don't like the fact that the box is fully powered up 24/7

The Roku 3 offers a great interface with YouTube, along with all the other channels. Since using the 3, I don't have any interruptions with my Netflix movies or any other channel I use. Now I have to buy another one for my bedroom and get rid of the slow, antiquated Roku 1. Ah, progress!

The Roku 3 is great, I have enjoyed streaming great movies, vintage tv shows, new shows and my kid loves access to his favorite shows and movies. I just wish that they had a channel that allowed straight access to the internet. Like a browser channel.

A new way to enjoy television!

The Roku 3 is the third Roku I have purchased over the years, and the product continues to astound me! It's really a combination of terrific hardware, reasonable prices, and the thousands of content providers that makes this happen. I know of many people who have disconnected cable or stopped watching over-the-air television because there is so much available. I particularly like the fact that the content providers often offer the entire season of a program, all available at the same time. Roku has done an admirable job of pulling this feature together. It deserves a 5 star rating, and I would award more if they ever increase the number of available stars!
