Quick and Zippy, But..

If directly compared to previous model, it works well.
For me the issue is the remote. It works fine when used like the previous version, but when you want to use the headphone jack, it freezes up on occasion and whatever you were listening to is now going to go back to output on the tv. The main issue with this is lets say you are watching a show that you want to watch with headphones and it is of a discreet nature. Suddenly, it is blaring on your tv and you can't pause because the remote is frozen. Popping out the batteries and putting them back in will fix it temporarily.

Not what I expected / hoped it would have more

Nice interface, solid unit. It should come with an HDMI cable (at least a cheap one). Too much of the real content requires you to also have a major content provider such as Comcast, Time Warner, or DirecTv.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Mainly for Netflix

The menu for Netflix movies and descriptions has changed and the words are nearly too small to read without sometimes getting up close to the TV. We use the Roku a lot for Netflix and wish Roku would fix this challenge. Otherwise, pretty good device.

After "cutting the cord" and buying a few Roku 3s for the house, I have had nothing but positive experiences with them!

Why buy a SmartTV unless you NEED a new one?

I have FiOS, but couldn't justify paying for the extra STB for our master bedroom. My TV is an older LED and did not have any "smart" features so I purchased a Roku 3 (my first streaming device) and have been pleasantly surprised. I've used it mostly for Amazon Prime and Pandora, but it's a great little device.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I had some issues with remote pairing but Roku customer service was great and resolved that. It works great better than my Samsung Smart TV similar (Netflix, etc) apps do. My daughter watches it everyday and so do I. Cheaper option to have rather than buying a Smart TV.

Great Cable and Satelite TV Alternative!

We bought our Roku in January 2014. Have been very happy with it. Setup Netflix, Hulu Plus, and Amazon Prime accounts to watch the content that we are interested in. Would like to see more channels with complete episodes like Animal Planet, Destination America, Discover and TLC, Velocity.
