I am shocked at how great this device is. Try using it with Plex and you can watch your own movies and listen to your music. Excellent product.

Improved GUI and remote, fewer output options

I had an original Roku box and was an early advocate of the service. I jumped at the chance to get Roku 3 with full HD capability and I liked the idea of being able to plug earphones into the remote but I was disappointed that the box only had 1 HDMI output and that the co-ax and RCA output connections had been removed.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Nice and Quick! Headphone Jack Saves the Day.

I bought this for the living room. We use cable only for internet, not for contect. We stream everything, mostly via Amazon and Netflix. I also like Plex for showing quick video clips taken on the iPhone.
We have a BluRay player that also streams, but this is so much nicer. Everything just snaps into place as fast as you could want.
I also really like the headphone jack on the remote. We all tend to work in the living room, so I can watch a show while my spouse works in a quiet environment.

Excellent multi-faceted media player

I bought my Roku 3 about a year ago. I've used it with Plex, Netflix, Amazon Prime, and Hulu. For the price it offers unbeatable value as a media server.
Pros:
- Perfect for the cable-cutter, with apps for all major internet providers.
- Good Plex app for downloaded media, though not as fancy as the desktop version.
- Small form factor, easy setup, great UI.
- Easy for kids and tech-challenged people to use

Cons:
- No reset button
- Rarely (once a week) hard-locks requiring manual unplugging of the power cable

Great product

Works as it should. Has wifi and hardwire connection. Easy to use for kids and non tech saavy adults as well. Lots of free content just have to look for it.

I am not a regular TV viewer since I cannot sit through all the commercials, and I like non interrupted TV programs and movies, so I invested in the Roku. It is a life saver. There has been no problems at all with the Roku, as it out performs itself constantly. I love it!
