Faster and better than its predecessors. Headphone option to connect to the remote is nice -- good for times when you don't want the kids in the next bedroom to hear your noisy action flick. Otherwise it's fast, easy to setup and use, and it performs well over my wireless-N/WAC network. Would be nice if the motion controller worked for controlling the Roku3 itself, but that's a minor quibble at most. Does occasionally lock up or overheat, but only very rarely.

I use my roku on a samsung tv that has built in smart tv features and it works much better. I use it for mostly netflix and hulu streaming and it works very well. It is fast and easy with no fuss. Searching can be a bit of a pain with no keyboard on the remote, but I set up most of my show lists on a PC, so it's not usually an issue.
The remote batteries that came with it died faster than expected, maybe because I used headphones with it, or maybe they were just old.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Software upgrade made it worse

With my old Roku box I could see the entire Netflix screen on my tv (ever since the latest software upgrade the image is way too big for my tv screen and I can't real all of it. I am forced to guess what I am selecting from the left side. I also hate that I can't watch movie credits. Sorry, but I liked the old one better.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We were streaming from our Blue Ray player before we got the Roku and had starting and stopping of movies all the time. Now they play all the way through without a problem. Wouldn't want to be without our Roku.

Love our roku!

We've had the roku 3 for a month or so now and we love it. It works great with net flicks and hulu. The kids love playin angry birds on it too. I love that it can be connected to amazon prime as well. We don't need cable. We have everything we need! I did give it 4 starts instead of 5 because for whatever reason there are a few shows that will not play with any volume. They work fine on our tablets and with the earbuds in the remote.( A feature I absolutely LOVE BTW. It's great when the kids are in bed and or the baby is napping.). It's only a few shows. Annoying since one show I'd love to actually watch on my tv!

Love the interface and stability

This is my 3rd Roku. I also have two older Roku 2 XD units that still work well, however the Roku 3 is most definitely the best. Menu navigation is great and the over-all stability has been much improved!
