Great features! I also own the 1st generation Roku, while the 1st gen is good the speed of the Roku 3 blows it out of the water. Would highly recommend this product!!

Started out great, but had issues

The Roku was easy to set up and streams great. It was simple to map it to NetFlix. Unfortunately, the machine hangs up every time I start to use it for the first time in a day...maybe there is a sag in the power and it causes a loop, but I have to unplug it to "reboot" it every time I want to watch NetFlix. Genuine pain in the butt. Why not put in an on/off button instead? This ruins an otherwise-great experience.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I thought I had slow internet speed as my previous Panasonic streaming player paused for Netflix constantly. My roku player however streams seamlessly with no pauses. Awesome product!!!!!

Wonderful Single pane of glass

The Roku has streamlined out entertainment center. We have Amazon, Netflix, news channels, Plex Media server, and weather, all in one spot. No more need for the Wii or XBOX in the living room, just a wonderful single plane of glass to controll all digital subscriptions.

Can't live without it

I have a "smart" TV which can do much of what Roku can---in theory. In actuality, I never use the "smart TV" and always use Roku. Roku is very well designed and stable and user-friendly. I do not have cable TV and rely solely on Roku.

We have two Roku units ... one for the master bedroom and one for the family room. We have a Samsung Blue Ray that has no Roku connection. Now we have the connection in both places and are delighted with the service.

I bought my new Roku 3 to replace my "vintage" player. I like most of the new features; however, I don't like the new "mini" credits screen. I like to watch the credits roll after a movie and I can barely see them, let alone read them on the new model. Otherwise, it's great!

Better Than Apple TV

We had Apple TV but could not get the video channels we were looking for. We found Roku 3, and it opened the world to us for added videos. If you are not sure which system to buy, I suggest you look at Roku!
