Still Learning About This Amazing Little Box!

I just purchased the Roku 3 and had minimal issues getting it loaded onto my older TV--thanks to the wonderful people at Support Chat! I just found out about being able to share my phone videos and pictures to my Roku--Wow!! I always have issues downloading my pics and vids and so I wanted to cry when I saw this was available! When we began watching our first movie, we were both amazed at the clarity and color of the picture--up to now we only used the TV for DVD viewing, which for some reason is not as good as viewing on our new Roku 3. I love all of the choices for viewing and being able to use our smartphones as a remote. I am totally wowed!!

I'm a technology professional so have enjoyed witnessing the growth of new media devices over the years for movies, music, TV, etc. I've tried many of them in my home, with vastly mixed success (mostly failure), but it wasn't until I installed my Roku 3 that I began to enjoy. I enjoy that I don't have to think about which input needs to be selected, which mode needs to be on, why the keyboard isn't working, whether the latest firmware update broke the device...Roku just works and works well! I'm still exploring the many Roku channels but notice I have not turned on my cable box in over a month! This 12.25 square inches of magic has changed my entertainment life and I'll always look back on the day I bought it as one of the best decisions I've made.

First step toward a Ala Cart Service

If you are looking to Cut the Links to a Expensive Satellite Service. This Unit is your first step. My Sat service costs have doubled since I subscribed.. I am a retired baby boomer and have to watch my budget. I was only watching a few channels on satellite service, Just not worth the $130 a month. Now I pick and choose. I see the future coming where we as Individuals can subscribe to the Individual Broadcasts we want, with No excess Fat and costs. The Roku is Very Easy to setup and works great! I like the headphone feature alot and hope that on the Next Roku 4 they incorporate Bluetooth. I suggest you Buy and try One , You wont regret it! Tons Of Apps!! User Friendly and Easy to use..

Set UP

Set up went well but somehow I didn't get the page to log in my account...or I missed it somehow. Took me an hour on the chat line with a help person to straighten everything out. So don't miss any steps. Unit works great except it needs a keyboard. Inputting items via that scroll button is a nightmare and slow as anything. GET A KEYBOARD! Netflix seems a waste-everything is so old.

The Best

I received my Roku 3 several weeks ago and so far excellent. Does not stutter, freeze and restart like the Roku 2 XS. Very happy with the 3. It has an awesome picture quality, no hesitancy when loading channels. I use the Roku for my main TV entertainment. Cut the Cable with original Roku HD (which I still use!). Highly recommend this player. Worth the investment. Already recommended to family and friends :)

All I Need

I've had my Roku 3 box for about 6 months and have loved every second of it. I'm so happy I made the switch from cable to Roku. I'm able to watch everything I typically watch (and more!) with no problems. I only wish they had the Watch ABC app (I think apple TV has it), so that I could at least watch the local news. Right now I stream that app on my laptop in order to watch the news, but I might look into getting an antenna so that I can watch right on my tv. Roku also allows you to stream apps liek iHeartRadio and Pandora, which is more than I can say for my odl cable subscription!

Good Product. Inconsistent Experience

I bought this a month ago. Overall it's a good product. However the experience is not consistent. (e.g. Audio in Netflix doesn't work if it's surround. But works in my HBO Go channel.). Guide pop-up key is different across different channels. Roku should try to make the UX consistent across all channels.
