great device

I was skeptical when my .other told me about her friend in assisted living that you could plug in the back of the tv and get movies. Friends son picked up for her. I wasn't excited. I plugged in, followed instructions and it worked. The Re some free features, but you need a subscription like netflix, amaze, etc.
That's easy. Only problem was Netflix froze up. Root online chat support solved the problem quickly.
Keep in mind there are other devices, such as ablueray DVD or Xbox that will do similar features, but for Mom's situation, it was perfect.

Smart device, small, few connections, easy to use

Have been using this device for about a year; it is great, let's me watch TV shows that I have missed by purchasing HuluPlus for a nominal monthly fee; and movies and tv through Netflix streaming service. Also has many free channels direct, such as PBS, and the History Channel. I love it.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Very Intuituve!

I got my Roku as a gift from my boyfriend since I wasn't sure what product to buy myself. I think it ended up being the most diverse, easy to use product. I mainly use it to watch Netflix (which completely froze on me once already - reason for my 4 stars instead of 5), but I also like that it syncs automatically with my phone on YouTube. Overall, the set up was very easy and step by step.

Easy to set up & easy to use

Setting up was a piece of cake. Navigation and adding channels is rather intuitive.
I connected my Roku 3 via ethernet because the router is nearby. This gives me maximum bandwith. Streaming is smooth. Never have even the slightest stutter. The 720p video is sharp. No complaints.
The Roku 3 loses a star (rating of 4) because of my disappointment in finding that there is no browser. I considered knocking off 2 stars to give a 3 rating because inclusion of the browser should be a no-brainer -- especially to the Roku folks who are experts at this. My best guess is that they are aware that customers want this feature but would rather avoid the browser and steer users to pay channels. I hope this is a wrong assumption, and that soon a firmware upgrade will be available to make this a 5 star + product.
