Love the idea, but either the earphone is bad at the male connector pin or the female receiver in the main controller is bad. When the earphones iare plugged in the audio cuts in and out. You have to tape the male plugin to the controller in a certain direction to keep the audio going thru the earphones. Other than that I love the way the Roku works.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Fast device

I'm very happy with how fast the Roku 3 operates, and I've discovered that everything works better with the device connected to the router through an ethernet cable. I also really like the iPhone app since it's much easier to search content that way. It would be nice if the app would ask before changing the channel, since sometimes I'm still just browsing and want to see if I've found free or paid content.
My main disappointment is how hard it is to find free content that I actually want to watch. I have Netflix, Hulu plus, and HBO Go, but my goal in getting the Roku was to do away with a cable subscription and save some money, which is looking less and less likely.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I was shocked that many channels and shows were unavailable, I bought this unit to replace cable tv only to find channel selection VERY limited with some requiring a subscription fee and many shows unavailable. It often ask me to link to my cable tv account, if I wanted cable I would have kept cable.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

good price, fast streaming, earphone is good.
However, the remote needs a hold key.
the sound from earphone is not constant sometimes, don't know why.
Developer mode can add vedioes.

Excellent, easy to use, true TV experience without a cable. A blessing for cord-cutters.
My only wish is for it to play GooglePlay stuff, but I guess this is never going to happen. For this (and this is probably a blasphemy here) I am using ChromeCast.

Amazing fun

ROKU was a gift to us from our children. We are partially stay-at-home folks, so we watch a lot of TV. We have had more fun accessing all of the wonderful channels, and we are seriously considering canceling cable and saving $$s. Seeing an entire series, previously not accessible to us, was a thrill. Viva la difference in viewing with ROKU.

I bought this a month ago and I am happy with it, but it would be awesome if there was feature added to this Roku3 that would allow me to stream home movies from my laptop to my TV.
