Roku 3 hits the mark!

I have a smart TV, but I initially bought a Roku because it had one dedicated app, Acorn TV, that I wanted,and I do not have a tablet or smartphone as yet to mirror from my pc to the TV. I'm now using Roku for apps like Amazon and Netflix because the connection is so much faster than the smart TV. No device "does it all" as yet; I think Roku is excellent and now a mainstay of my streaming "mix". The remote is well-designed and easy to use. Wireless set-up was simple and quick for this 75+-year-old.
FYI, I have a sony blue-ray that I use to stream with our other TV. It's very quick, but doesn't offer the variety of dedicated apps that Roku does.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Incredible value

We've had Roku for about 8 months. Incredible value. It opens up a whole world of movies and shows that one would miss altogether. It has also such wonderful features as pausing and remembering where one was and resuming downloads. Very easy to set up.

Useful device

We cancelled our cable plan, fed up with the poor service and constant rising costs. We basically needed a device to be able to stream Netflix on and didn't want to buy a bunch of gaming systems or computers. The Roku is exactly what we needed, and it's nice that it has other features and channels available to try. Plus it's nice and compact, simple to connect and rarely has an issue. Very occasionally it will freeze up for a second, but it will almost immediately reboot itself and takes virtually no time at all to get back to working.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Super Fast

The best features for me are; perfect wireless streaming, setup worked immediately out of the box, Speed of the Roku 3 is really fast, once you get used to it you find yourself jumping around a lot with super fast loading and the picture quality is superb, and it is all in one place!
The apps I use regularly; Amazon, Netflix, Crackle, and You Tube. It also has a Yahoo App that I stayed on for hours when I first hooked my new toy up. If you haven't got you one yet you need the roku 3.
Another feature I want to mention is the search feature. I love to be able to search the roku apps in ONE spot and then see who if any will stream them for me. Sometimes it comes up with 3 or more options and sometimes none, but I don't need to run around searching everywhere to find what I want.
I paid a little extra for the Roku 3 but if this is going to be your main streaming device I think you should pay a little extra and get a superior product. Hope that helps anyone out there looking for a quality streaming device that does almost everything you could want.

Love Love Love!

This was one of the gifts I received for Christmas and I love it! you can use the control to play games and stream music. I can also play my photos on there as well. We were using an Playstation to stream Netflix, but after getting the roku I love it! its also wireless much helps eliminate so many wires and cords.its worth the money. There are just a few more apps that I hope to see soon on roku.

Great streamer with a few minor problems

Have had this about a year and its very easy to set up and use. The only bump in the road so to speak is occasionally it will stutter when navigating thru the menus. A simple fix is unplug and wait 10 seconds to replug.

We actually bought another brand first because it had a fancy key pad and other features we thought were important....Our second streaming device I bought was Roku and only because it would work with any TV, old or new, and we wanted to use it on an older TV. We quickly realized we liked the Roku so much better! We have since replaced our first device with another Roku and convinced five family members and friends to try streaming and buy a Roku!. We love it!!!
