Great Media Player

Great product. The updated hardware makes it much faster and easier to use than the roku streaming stick. Definitely worth the extra money. Also the headphone jack on the remote is pretty cool.

I bought a roku 3 over a years ago. I had a dvd player with built in wifi channels (Sony) but it was always stopping and buffering. The roku never does that. very good quality, and lots of free channels and movie rental channels.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Streams OK but has an issue

After watching for a while, when switching programs the audio comes out in slow motion like sound. It doesn't keep up with the video and won't catch up. Even after cycling off to reset it is still slow audio. Read an internet post that it might be compatibility issue with certain TV models. It did work just fine on the previous TV set we had.

Can't provide Netflix

ROKU is no longer able to provide Netflix. Amazon and other content providers are fine. I am able to get Netflix on my IPad with no problem so this is not an ISP issue. I will be connecting my IPad to my TV to play Netflix. Why would I continue to stick with ROKU?

One Roku is not enough!

I held off for a couple of years on buying a Roku because my neighbor owns one of the older models and he doesn't use it much. This year my cable TV provider decided to extort much higher fees from its subscribers, so I downsized my relationship with them and began my romance with Roku. Over the last 6 months I have bought two Roku 3s and one Roku LT, the latter feeding an old analog TV that would otherwise be useless. I plan to buy more Rokus (I understand you can have up to six on one account). These devices are extremely well-designed, highly functional, and the quality of the picture they deliver is superb. The Roku is not yet a replacement for cable TV but if they can work out an on-demand contract with Charter (my cable TV provider) I will ditch my flaky digital set-top boxes - all except one - and standardize on Roku. BTW, for the first time ever I had a need yesterday to contact Roku support due to suddenly laggy performance on one unit. It took over an hour to get to the top of the tech support chat queue, but it was definitely worth the wait. The rep was based in the UK and obviously very well trained, professional, and polite. He coached me through some tech moves I didn't know I had in me, and quickly got that Roku back up to its usual high performance. Changing the subject again, I'm sure a lot of people are contemplating whether to buy the Roku or the Google dongle product. I have read all the comparisons and as of this point in time Roku is still clearly better and worth the difference in price. I do a lot of other business with Google, but not in this case.
