This is my first streaming device - and I am very pleased. I am now planning to add one to each of my TV's. I know it's more expensive than other products - but I firmly believe the old adage you get what you pay for.

Small but powerful

Bought last month for myself. Very happy with easy of set up and use afterwards. Very small so fits just about anywhere unobtrusively. Happy with content available. Just bought a second unit and installed at my parent's home.

I bought a Roku 3, and I love it, I am a cord cutter (no more huge cable bills for me) and the Roku 3 is an essential part of my TV watching experience. Apps load very fast- Netflix is much faster loading on my Roku 3 than on our XBox or Wii. Very happy with this product!

I got this because I had been watching netflix on my xbox and it was starting to over heat between watching movies and playing games. I love all the extras that go with it as well. Roku is easy to navigate and has a multitude of extra choices. I loved it so much I got one for my in-laws. Plus it saves us so much money having this and not the local satellite or cable provider.

Nifty little box - please make IR!

So this is an exceptionally well-executed box that holds everything that one could expect in a smart tv a) without the tv and b) much better since the hardware is dedicated and the firmware updates itself reguarly.
It is swift and doesn't display the lag so common in devices like a tv or a blu-ray player where the "stream stuff from the web" portion is at best an afterthought and response after pressing a button is...slow at best.
My niggles with the box are few and are mostly based around the choice of an Radio Frequency model for its remote control. Like so many people, I have consolidated my remote control sprawl with universal remotes. I have three of the excellent Logitech Harmony products throughout my house but they are all the traditional infrared or IR style.
This means that in each location that I choose to put a Roku, I must have a second remote control kicking around. Roku: Please put an IR option (at least a receiver) in future models so that I have the option of running your device through my special remotes or at the very least the multifunction remote that comes from every single cable/dish provider.
In the month or so since I've had this, there have been multiple times where I elected to not use the Roku simply because the Roku remote was not next to the universal remote near me.
The other distinction I would like to see is a differentiation of channels that are actually free and ones that require a subscription to watch.
Otherwise, great work!

Love seeing my internet sites on my big tv.

I am happy with the Roku. It works wonderfully. Especially for kids there are many many wonderful movies and tv shows for them to see. I have been seeing my Amazon subscription on my big tv since I got the Roku along with Netflex. I haven't tried everything yet but so far it has worked great and we have enjoyed it.

bought this unit because we didnot have a smart tv yet. it set up very easy and was simple to add various new channels. seems to work well even with our HDMI switch.
