Closed Captioning

The ROKU 3 has closed captioning which is a vast improvement over my first gen Roku. However, white letter captioning in the middle of the screen is difficult to read, dependent on the scene background. If Roku can improve the closed captioning and REMOVE requiring a credit card be on file just to register, things would be must better.

The Best At What It Does

I was hesitant to buy a Roku because I already had an XBox360 and two Sony bluray players with wifi capabilities enabling me to stream Amazon Prime, Netflix etc. After having constant trouble getting decent stream quality and buffering issues I decided to give a Roku a try. I am so happy I did. It really comes down to whether or not you want one that does one thing exceptionally well or you want one thing that does a lot of things without doing any of them particularly well. The Roku streams content and it does a phenomenal job of doing so. The interface is the best I've seen. I've not once had an issue with Netflix streaming quality and the WWE network is running perfectly. I can't imagine using anything else for streaming content to my TV. It's a tiny footprint, the remote is solid and there's even an app for facilitating search and allows you to use your phone in lieu of the remote. Roku does what it does better than anything else out there and it shouldn't even be a question as to whether or not to get one but rather how many you want to pick up.

I bought the Roku because it had the plex channel. It does a great job running media from my media server. I love it and I have recommended it to several family members so that I can share my movies with family.

My Ruko

We bought this ruko mid feb 2014, as we just got internet and phone service no tv, I heard about the ruko so I went out and bought one. I hooked it up and watched the news, also it opens up many options for a person, free movie channels, a lot of pay for view and many more news channels. I am very satisfied with my ruko for what i watch the price was right for me.

What's not to love

We have had the Roku 3 now for a couple of months and we love it. Great features, very fast, large collection of channels & beautiful video. We have really enjoyed the games also. Our new term for cool is now "Roku". :-)

Great player, But---

I have had the Roku 3 since last summer and it was easy to set up and the choices are endless, but I have had problems recently with it just quit working correctly or not at all. I have done factory resets twice now. I have 30mbs cable internet so that isn't the problem. I also have a wired connection. Other than that it is great.
