Enjoying life without the cable

We canceled our cable service because of the cost and wretched customer and technical support we were receiving and have never been happier. The Roku box is exactly as advertised: a snap to set up, easy to operate and it's a portal to a whole world of quality programing. We have three streaming services and are still paying less than our very basic cost us every month.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I have tried several other set top/ streaming devices including chromecast and for the money and the features you get with yhe roku and the fact that the roku is faster with less overall lag then some other boxes I really love this thing looks like ill be replacing the chromecast on my other two tv's.....

I bought this a month ago and set it up quickly, but the next day I could only receive audio but no video for the movies I wanted to watch. It took a call to Sony to fix it the first time and then one to ROKU the second time to learn how to reset the darn thing every few days. The procedure is to unplug everything, ROKU, TV, let a minute elapse and then plug all the cables back in. While I like the quality of the video, this is a real pain in the neck to use. Plus as another reviewer stated, the remote eats batteries very quickly considering that I don't use it but to find and view a movie every day or so.;
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

No Cable or Satellite service for decades. Only games, Internet, and Blu-Ray. Picked this up on sale and wow talk about entertainment. No need for Cable or Satellite, Roku is where it is at and what it is about for free entertainment.
