Amazing device

I have built many HTPCs in my time but I needed something with a low footprint, low heat output and low power requirements. This device met my needs. I added plex and immediately got access to a ton of great channels and of course all my media. The lack of jumbo frames, ipv6, and gigabit ethernet were a little shocking in 2014 but for such an excellent device i can forgive those oversights. I would definitely recommend this device.

I bought this device to add to my "cord cutting" experience. I disconnected my cable television in Dec.2013. I had been looking at his product and a friend was telling me about it. I took the plunge after trying out several andriod boxex. This thing is great for watching HULU and Netflix! I have a Sony media player but the interface is less than pleasing. The headphone jack incoporated into the remote is a great feature. I ultimately decided to get an older version of the Roku.. I actually bought two Roku HD devices. They work just as well as the Roku 3, minus the headphone jack in remote feature. ! I would recommend this product and/or a older version as well. They work the same. Great product!

3 Features that others don't have

Having your favorite channels readily available, Tons of content channels, remote headphone jack. The only minor issue so far was on my Vudu channel buffering while watching. This was fixed by rebooting the Roku by simply disconnecting power and now it is back to buffer free watching.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I've never owned a video streaming player before, but I am very happy with the Roku 3. The set up was pretty easy and its controls are very easy to understand.

The main reason I bought this was to be able to take advantage of the Amazon Prime video content which I had been paying for but was unable to utilize. In addition to Amazon, I got way more than I had bargained for, and am happily enjoying Pandora, extended content from PBS, and many other more obscure but interesting channels. My connection to Netflix via the Roku interface is also much faster and stronger than it used to be when it was streamed through my internet-ready LG TV; I don't know why this is so, but I am certainly happy about it. The reason I didn't give it five stars is because it got jammed up from a 3-second power outage; it took me a while to get it up and running again. The fix turned out to be pushing the re-set button on the remote. At least next time it happens, I'll know what to try first!

Bought my first Roku 3 for the bedroom TV. Needed to change it from a dumb
TV into a smart TV. lt keeps the wife happy as she likes the light of the TV but not the sound when she sleeps. Setup was very simple, non tech savvy users fear not, this practically sets itself up. Picked up wireless signal easily and was streaming in 10 minutes, and I type slow. Very good user interface. Remote control feels real good in hand, ergonomically correct. Great choices for all, you will never run out of content to watch. Only one concern and that is the remote control, it is an RF signal to the Roku. The mistake I made was to wrap the earphones around the remote after I was done watching and burned up the batteries in my first day! I wont make that mistake again. If your on the fence about this don't worry, you will like it.

Roku #3...Buy It!

Roku #3 just offers more. If you want You Tube, this is the only unit that will provide it. Moreover, it has a much faster processor than the cheaper ones. I thought about #2. But, when I realized the speed of #3, it was a no brainer. It also is east to install and use.
