Super-fast streaming! Very easy setup / use.

Roku 3 is so fast it delivers TV on demand the way it was meant to be.  Fast searches, fast results and fast streaming.  Simple user friendly remote.  Line of sight is not required for the remote, so you can put it anywhere (mine is in garage with just an HDMI cable coming through wall to TV.  
Only down-side is that the Slingbox channel requires you to use the Slingbox phone app in order to control your Slingbox.  Hopefully, future software releases will allow the Roku remote to control the Slingbox.  
I would recommend this to a friend!

I bought it mainly for HBO Go, but it does everything else very well, too.  And I love that you can plug headphones into the remote.

A great improvement, nice features

While I am still learning all the benefits of the many apps I have to admit, I bought this to improve my Slingplayer experience. This is a faster processor and has a fun interface but IT DOES NOT HAVE A NATIVE SLINGPLAYER. So, until it acts more like the slingplayer app for an Ipad, this is simply taking your iphone slingplayer and playing it through the Roku. If you want to use your phone while watching TV good luck. I was told it will work with the Ipad but I can't get that to work and neither can the Roku on line chat people.
Other than that it has a much nicer interface than my WD TV streamer. The difference is that the WD runs slingplayer all by itself. Sadly, it is a cryptic interface, but I still use it rather than tie up my phone to watch TV remotely on the Roku.
But all other apps are pretty good. Please improve the Slingplayer experience!

I do like that it has so many features and I like the game remote. I have had a problem with it freezing up and with loss of internet connection. The variety of channels is great

Easy Setup and Operation

This was my first streaming device as I begin to expand viewing options beyond cable television. (I am technically savvy, as I build my own computers and operate several simultaneously in my office.) This unit worked perfectly, was easy to setup, has nice remote device feel (button sensitivity). Was delayed some minutes in setup by not reading troubleshooting tip on last page of user document that came with device. You may have to synch the remote to the device to get it "talking" together (by depressing button inside battery compartment). Other than this, was only perhaps fifteen to twenty minutes to set up if moving slowly.

Wi-Fi issues

When it works, its great. I've had it for a month now and I rarely get to watch an entire show/movie without it pausing to reload; if it succeeds that is. Often times it tells me that it can't connect and to try again later. I back out to verify the network connection to find that its disconnected itself and I have to reboot the entire system to get it to work again. I have 4 other devices connected to my Wi-Fi that have no issues so it gets aggravating. If the Roku worked consistently I would recommend it to friends.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Love some features

Had this for a little over a month.  I love that I can watch The Blaze on it, and listen to music on Pandora. The Netflix channel includes the new profiles, which was super important to me. My media plays pretty well to it from my external hard drive. Sometimes I have crashes, but I suspect that has more to do with the encoding of my shows. I do wish it was capable of playing more media types. But overall, I've loved having this little box.

I've had this over a month, and I love the functionality and ease of use - definitely recommend. Wish Dish had an app for it though - most of the channel apps don't have a dish option. But that is on Dish on Roku!
