Best Media Player Experience

I bought this player two months ago to provide streaming media to an older HDTV that didn't have smart features. It is very quick to respond to button presses. I was interested in NetFlix, Hulu from the web and Plex for home video player. Plex performs wonderfully on this device. I am very pleased with the purchase.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Amazing compared to other options in the Market

I have tried several DVD blueray / smart app combo devices (I won't name brands) before giving in to purchasing a Roku and I'm crazy for having waited so long! There are several areas where the Roku really stands out against the competition in this market: 1) Extremely reliable connection to my 10mb internet/network - other devices I've used would at times lose connection, 2) 4x faster loading movies and content from my home PLEX server compared the other devices - wait time is minimal, 3) no lag when navigating through menus and available apps - have had problems with other devices being lagging when just trying to find content to load/play. My initial intent was to connect solely to my home PLEX server - the Roku app for PLEX isn't the prettiest, but very functional which I'd take over pretty any day! - I've since watched many moves through amazon instant prime, and quite a few tv series through Netflix. I'm one very satisfied customer with no regrets!

We are so happy we bought Roku. I first heard about it through some Christian broadcasts and decided to check it out. I am not a techy by any stretch. This is so easy to use and set up. I am already recommending it to friends. We didn't want expensive cable and Roku fits our needs perfectly. There is something for every member of our family to watch!

Does what it says, and does it well!

The stuff you're already aware of: it's good.
The few gripes I do have:
-Not all video formats are supported streaming from device
-Why can't I search for channels?
-Fast forward and rewind aren't the smoothest, which is typical/fine, but it would be really nice if the phone app had a slider control to more precisely hit the time you're looking for.

That's it! The wireless (non infra red) remote is great, as is the speed of all the action.

So easy to use

This is an upgrade from our original Classic Roku player. The Roku 3 is faster and has a better interface, and a much better remote. I really love that you can plug earphones into the remote. I'm not much of a game player, but every once in a while it is fun to blow off a little steam with the included Angry Birds Space game.

Roku 3 is Fantastic

I purchased the Roku 3 a month ago. I am truly pleased with this product as I do not have cable, but do have a DSL line. I watch through the Roku more than the local stations, and don't have expensive cable charges. The only problem is Hdmi cable and Hdmi ports on TVs. I was having trouble with reception. After reading various information on the problems, I used a different Hdmi cable and different Hdmi port on my Coby HD TV -- haven't had an problems since.

My husband and I impulse-bought our Roku at Costco about a month ago, and we've been so happy with it! I don't think either of us knew the capabilities of the Roku and the extensive array of apps that are available. It's opened up a whole new way of experiencing television and movies and we absolutely LOVE it.
