Great and small

The Roku 3 is the greatest and we are so glad we bought it. There isn't anything you cannot view with it and the streaming is flawless, so smooth with nothing to interfere with it. The app's it contains and software is unbelievable, setup is a breeze. You can view your own photo's with it along with being able to listen to music off of a USB flash or thumb drive. Can't praise it enough and don't know how we ever got along without having it.

Bookoo more channels available. headphones in remote for late night. More tactile remote buttons. Interactive games available. I'm glad I bought it instead of another Apple TV.

M-GO

To the point - Two things: first, M-GO has poor customer service and when they finally replied (two days later), they placed the blame of the second promotional movie I attempted to download (the first one had no issues) on my internet provider which is high-speed (50/25 Mbps). I don't think I will actually pay for their service, there are too many other (more established) ways to get movies. It's FAR too frustrating when you are settling down for Saturday evening movie night and you can't get a movie you purchased to play; second, the Roku 3 device itself does not have audio outputs (the Roku 2 has them), I had to go through my TVs audio outputs which required me having to take it off its mounting brackets and being an older HD TV (its heavy) makes it a two-man job. No where on the packaging or website does it say that the 3 no longer has these outputs, Roku claims the 3 has everything the 2 did plus more - it doesn't. Knowing this I would not have spent the extra $20 on the 3. There aren't enough options on recommending this to a friend, straight up I would say no because I like the ease of the audio outputs. If you are just watching TV, I'd still say the 2 is a better value.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Mostly satisfied

I'm happy I purchased the Roku. It works well, and I like the access to the various channels. The sound quality through the ear buds is less than what I had hoped for, and the content in the free movie channels is not very inviting for me, but the unit itself works great.

Great for Amazon Prime and Netflix

This may be a different review from most, since my family and I consume video entertainment in a non-mainstream manner.
Our primary method of watching video is via a Home Theater PC (HTPC) running the XBMC software. This gives us access to DVR'ed over-the-air TV, some streaming services & to our considerable local video and audio content.
XBMC is open source software and as such is limited in its access to DRM protected streaming services such as Amazon Prime and Netflix.
The Windows 8 running HTPC has a very good Netflix app, but the app does not work with a standard media remote nor is it's UI optimized as a "10 foot" TV interface.
As to Amazon Prime, there is no good way to watch it on a PC.
So we got tired of having a poor user experience on two of the services that we pay for and purchased a Roku 3.
Both the Amazon Prime and Netflix applications are top notch! Stable, high fidelity, and with a responsive and attractive UI. The Roku's Netflix UI is much more suited to the TV experience than the Windows 8 App.
The included Roku remote is very good & I was very easily able to program our Harmony universal remote to control it as well, so we have a seamless user experience moving between our different sources.
The universal search is a very useful bonus, and almost worth the price of the Roku alone!
The Roku Crunchy Roll application is more stable than it's XBMC counterpart and has a better UI. The XBMC currently has the advantage of being able to stream in higher resolution, but hopefully that will be upgraded soon.
We have used the Vudu app and a few of the others and have found them responsive and stable as well.
So a Roku can have a useful place even in a very high tech cord cutter's arsenal of video entertainment sources!

It could not please me more. Watch European news mid-day to eliminate drivel of the usual networks. M-go has much less expensive rentals than your dish or cable. This interfaces flawlessly with modern TV set or an AV receiver! No hitches. If you have hi-speed internet in your home you need this. Many, many of the usual rental channels are here with endless choices . The free channels outnumber the pay ones maybe 5 to 1. I really do not know there are more than 120.
