First cutting the cable product that I purchased/installed that my wife and her friend can use without technical assistance from a nearby techie. Both of these persons are in their late sixties. Neither could regularly program a VCR when the power went out. While I do personally prefer the Chromecast device (for ease of casting), this for the less technically oriented is a better choice.

I bought this a month ago to stream netflix more effectively. It has been so much more. I use it primarily to stream netflix and amazon prime content and has been amazing, fast, and reliable.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Lots of Choices - Intuition of Controls Confusing

The Roku has a boat load of choices which is really nice. Figuring out which ones are free for the long term or just a "free trial offer" is confusing. The set up can take awhile to work through. We have an iAppletv which is much easier to use but has far fewer choices. We terminated our 16 year relationship with Directv and saved over $1,300 a year in subscription fees. Very nice.

Before purchasing the Roku-3, I was using a late-model, WiFi-equipped BluRay DVD player to stream video. It was undependable and lost the signal multiple times during an hour show causing endless re-buffering. Then, when the signal did finally return, the program would start again from the beginning, leaving me to "guess" my way back to the point where it dropped out. That's all gone now. The Roku-3 is small, but it packs a punch!

Great Setup, Ease of Use, Features, Streaming . .

I had a ROKU 1 and it was re-furbished. It was great, but it would reboot sometimes, and during a movie, that wasn't so great :( I purchased the R3 for Christmas for myself, my best friend and my brother. BEST MONEY I'VE EVER SPENT!! I'm a hero with them and thier families now. They say they never heard of ROKU, but i'm guessing it was on their wish lists hehehehe LOVE IT, LOVE IT, LOVE IT! Like the Title says Great, Easy, FUN! - BTW - I'm a real person, I'm not getting paid for this, I get my payment from the Great Entertainment, and OH did i mention NO COMMERCIALS??????????? OH YEAH!!!
