The Roku couldn't have been easier to set up and get started. The cost is covered by not having to pay for a certain video game system's online service to stream media to our television. I'm very happy with my choice.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I bought the roku about 6 weeks ago and couldn't be happier. Comcast was getting too expensive, so much of my tv watching is streaming or DVR, and so many channels on Comcast and still nothing to watch. Buying a Roku along with getting an antenna for digital channels will save me $50-$80 a month, and I no longer feel like I am overpaying for a service I don't need.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Works well with one potential fatal flaw

This little unit works very well for what we use it for. This is usually Hulu, Netflix and Plex with some occasional YouTube. The setup is cake or should be (more on that in a bit) and the interface for the various programs are very easy to use. The remote works really well, perhaps too well..... the remote connects via Wi-Fi. It had it's own ad hoc network that pairs the remote to the base station. The problem here is that this network signal is rather strong and will always broadcast on the same channel as your wireless router that you may or may not be using to connect the Roku. This will cause erratic behavior on anything else using wireless. Some things may just work incredibly slowly, others might fail to connect at all or will constantly drop their connection. If you wish to use an Ethernet connection for the Roku you can eliminate this issue but you have to fiddle with the settings to prevent the Roku from jumping to your wireless channel. You can also work around the issue by having a router with 2.5 and 5 gHz antennae. Put the Roku on 5 GHz with a high channel, connect everything else on 2.5 GHz with a low channel. This is a WORK AROUND though, using a Roku should not require me to dedicate the entire 5ghz frequency of my router just so the remainder of my wireless devices can connect. I've made it work for me but if you have only a single band router or aren't tech savvy enough to realize what's going on this little box could cause a lot of frustration. Research online and you'll see that while it doesn't seem to happen to every Roku for some reason... It's definitely an issue for many.
