Great alternative to cable

We purchased the Roku a couple of months ago and have been "testing the waters" with it. We plan to cut the cord with cable soon. Setup was easy - we have WiFi. The only issues we have had is that it "freezes up" once in a while - I think we have discovered that our microwave - which is on the other side of the wall from the TV/Roku is interfering with it sometimes. Other than that, my husband absolutely loves it. And I do too because he can use the headset plugged into the remote and I don't have to listen to a loud move/TV program. My husband has already recommended the Roku to people he works with.

I found it interesting that some other reviewer had a Roku given to them by Dish. I dumped the Dish to get my Rokus and have never looked back. I had to make some serious changes to my expenses after divorce, and was not happy with the cable experience anyway. I have been extremely happy with the Roku and the choices of channels and services. A few things I missed seeing on cable are available very inexpensively via Amazon or one of the other pay view methods (like Mad Men). My only complaint is that there is no way to get HBO products, paid or not. That's not the fault of Roku - keep after them, people! This is a terrific television experience for a fabulously low price. I am planning to get the new Roku with headphones soon for my upstairs tv. I just can't recommend them enough - I am so glad that a person randomly told me about them when I was getting ready to ditch the Dish.

I like the roku but the channels I would like to use are all pay extra channels or need cable connection and they don't support time Warner. I mostly use netflix and huluplus, the other channels are just ok

Be careful of all the items that request a charge; other than that it does all that it says and perhaps more. Very satisfied

Best toy I've bought in years!

Of every bit of electronic and entertainment stuff I've bought in recent years, y'know, mobile phones, TVs, tablets, computers, DVDs etc, the ROKU 3 is by far the best investment I've made. It's tons of fun, simple to setup and use, and I don't think I'll ever get through everything I want to watch - there's way more choice than I ever dreamed of, though it would be even better if they had some LIVE international news channels other than SKY from the UK. AND it keeps the wife and daughter quiet all night while they watch...EVERYTHING. Can't get better than that! :)

I purchased this product about one month ago and have been pleased with it ever since. It was very easy to install and the ease of operation makes this a valuable piece of equipment to add to your viewing experience.

While I'm still learning to use or get all the features, I'm dazzled by what's possible. For an octogenarian to be able to engage the entire world from couch, recliner, or sick bed is to be freed from what for centuries has been the lot of the aged. No more boring passage of the final days for the inactive souls just waiting to die. I'm serious. Bright people know we all must die and retirement is hard for the unimaginative to face.
Roku can take the sting out of it. Keeping the brain stimulated and active keeps us alive.

In love with TV again!

I bought this about 6 weeks ago after buying google's chrome version first and being very disappointed with it. The ease and selection of what is available on Roku makes it the superior product. I have been heard in my household saying over and over again how much I love my new Roku, that I think my family is getting a bit worried for me. Seriously though, watching TV is now a joy again and the trouble is carving out time to watch all the programs that I've discovered through Roku. Great product!
