Great streaming device

I bought my Roku 3 online over a month ago having compared it with other streaming devices. The feature that sealed it for me was the remote that also turned into audio source for private listening. The setup was a breeze.
The only drawback I could find is the absence of an on/off button as I had to restart the device once to correct what I call fast-forward syndrome, where the audio and video being streamed appeared fast, thus the name. Restarting the device corrected this.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Awesome little box

Gettting the ps3 away from my tv was tough due to the fact of alot of devices that could not deliver what i wanted such as netflix,hulu plus,vudu, you tube etc.all in one place, i tried other devices but no of them came close to the roku 3, its so amazing and simple to use that even my 3yr old can navigate thru it with no problems finding his show in a flash (3yr olds have no patience at all ) so that alone is well worth it, my self , my wife and my 3 kids love it, im in the process of getting one for each of their room. bottom line an amazing device i would recommended to everybody, this is perfect reason to cut the cord.
The only flaw i found was that the audio pass thru is not up to par with some older surround systems, just make sure that your surround system can decode dolby didital + (dd+) other wise you only get stereo sound. ( roku please fix this) other devices have no issue with this flaw.

Better anything I had hoped for...

I used to use my ps3 as a media server. After 5 years, it developed some hiccups and I had to look for an alternative. As a media server, Roku is much better than ps3 and able to pull in many more channels. I have attached a 1TB portable hard drive which I use for keeping Videos that I watch often (ps3 had a hard disk of 300gig).
A suggestion - with a minor tweak, Roku can easily be converted into a DVR. That would be awesome.

A friend of mine told me about Roku 3 .
I love it, It is a great product, especially it works with time warner cable. Im saving about $20 a month by not renting a additional cable box. It has lots of great applications. Also love the headphones for remote control.

Excellent video streamer

I bought this first as a gift for a relative. After hearing about how well it worked, I decided to buy one for myself. It is super easy to set up. It is faster than similar other products. I like it better than my AppleTV. The video and audio quality are superb. I love the fact that I can attach a headphone of my choice to the tiny remote controller and watch movies at night without waking up everyone around. You need not use the free and tiny earphone that comes with the unit. Adding channels is fast and simple. This is what I did not like about Roku 3: More than on two or three occasions so far in just the last two months, Roku refused to boot up. It would get stuck at the Home screen. It would get stuck saying "unauthorized ...." even when I try to watch a movie from a channel that I had already subscribed. I went online and read that many people had the same issues. The solution is to reboot the Roku and that is a waste of precious free time, just when you are finally ready to settle down and watch a movie. I hope Roku comes out with a software upgrade to permanently avoid this problem from ever occurring. On account of this issue, I have to take out one Star.

Planning on cutting the Uverse TV cord. My house has terrible OTA channel reception, even with an aerial. So I bought the Roku 3 at Costco for ?69 bucks? I got a great deal from Aereo so local channels are covered. My only quip is watching a continuous channel without interruption. Just not possible unless you do some serious aereobatics (you like that?). But that, my friends, is why Aereo should survive the supreme court challenge.
Setup is a breeze, as is adding channels. The unit can be slow to respond at times, but every "cable" box has its issues. Definitely recommend.
