Fast, Consistent and I Love the Uniform Interface

Did have trouble with set-up but customer service fixed the problem on their end. Like the memory expansion slot, as my first ROKU was very limited. Content is always improving. Fast delivery. Well-designed box and remote. I have a Smart TV and DVD player, but I prefer the ROKU interface.

Wonderful Alternative

Been using Roku for well over a month now, it has exceeded our expectations! We went from $110.00 p/month for a satellite service down to $46.00 per month and as soon as our contract is up, we will be paying $16.00 per month. Trying to cut back for retirement days, yet still have the ability to enjoy TV as a primary entertainment is just one change we are making. Roku is making this downsizing possible without losing enjoyment. Thank you Roku makers.

Mine just does not work very well

I bought the Roku so I could watch Netflix. It worked OK for a while, then I started getting weird error messages saying I was not authorized to view the content. I found that the connection on the back of the Roku was loose, and you had to wiggle it to make it work for a while. It was out of the very brief warranty, so I just put it on a shelf and bought a new DVD player that has the ability to stream video. It works much better.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I have been enjoying using this streaming device. I still lean towards using my AppleTV, since Airplay is embedded into the OS. Amount of content is great, much more than AppleTV. The "Play On Roku" (Airplay ish) feature is also every nice. If you dont have iTunes content I would highly recommend using the Roku over an AppleTV. It also very cool that my UltraViolet movies transferred over so nicely.

Pros- brings a lot of software together in one convenient space. Headphone jack in the control is great. Easy to setup.
Cons- Headphone jack eats the battery...fast. Free content not that great. Not a cable replacement but kudos for trying, need hulu + Netflix or amazon to get use of Roku. Smart TV's already have some of these apps built in. Roku response is laggy at times (not internet speed) as in when I press the button to move over a menu it sometimes freezes for a second.

I am quite happy with Gaiam TV, Netflix and Amazon. I have attempted to set up attempted to set up other accounts yet I have experienced difficulties. For Hulu and Pandora. Though I have followed the instructions and enter code, the message reads this is not a valid code.

We've had our Roku 3 for a couple of months and we love it. It is so simple to operate and is really so much more than imagined. We have Amazon Prime also but haven't used it much since the purchase of the Roku.
